It is the first full weekend of summer and boy is it going to be a stunner on the Island. I wanted to get a card posted before I head out to enjoy the glorious sun.

I expect the next few posts to be about the last set of cards I created with this Technique Tuesday stamp set. To me this paper is bright and sunny , I used simple layers and also popped up the sentiment panel. I finished with twine and sequins.

Fun and Crafty Adventures

I had the opportunity this week to join a fabulous group of ladies on a little crafting adventure. We don't have a lot of selection here in Victoria when it comes to places to shop for the supplies we all love to buy, maybe hoard a little.

A trip was organized to the lower mainland and supervised by a brave few while the rest of us climbed on and off buses having a day filled with chatting, sharing and shopping.. oh did we shop  - 5 different stores most filled lots of wonderful items to whisk away our money by temping us with inspiration.

Thankfully, the purse strings did not run away with themselves... for me anyway but I did mange to find a few things that will bring me some hrs of crafty joy.

I met some fabulous new crafty friends, thank you to said ladies for sharing your crafty wisdom, ideas, inspiration and general chat. I loved seeing the cards you have created and can't wait to see the ones that you will make with all your new treasures.

I had a request from a co-worker for cards yesterday, he had brought one of my cards with Love, Laugh Live on it as asked if I could make 5 more with the same theme. The task was daunting but surprisingly enough the creativity flowed nicely and I made all 5 in one sitting... kind of unheard of me the ultimate miss antsy pants. Boy did it feel great and best of all.. hello new supplies you are officially broken in :)

Are you tired of me telling you how much I love my stitched rectangle dies yet.. probably but well I think I used them on all 5 cards last night, I am not sure if I am just lazy or not :).  I used one of my go to simple layouts, it is easy when you let the double sided paper do the work. I added a little twine to mask the seam then stamped the sentiment and popped it up with foam tape. I finished with a few fun flowers to match the dots.

Supplies: White and black card stock, Designer Paper -Simple Stores, Technique Tuesday Live Laugh Love,  misc die cuts, twine.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #164

We have a new challenge for you today over at Merry  Monday Christmas Card Challenge. I am the hostess this week and the challenge is – Create a Christmas card with a funky hat on it.

This image reminds me of something you would see in a Dr. Seuss book, I love it. Kind of wish I had these decorations :).

There are no funky hat stamps in my collection, not a one. So I spend a little bit of time digging through (uhhum) considerable amount of DP to find something that would work for what I had in mind.  I am not sure this really fit the bill but I like the cool paper.

I used my stitched die cuts (yes again :)). Added some foam tape to the top layer and did the same with the sentiment and voila CAS.

Supplies: White and brown card stock, Designer Paper - Basic Grey, Cornish Heritage Farms - Vintage Christmas Expressions.

Happy Father's Day

I feel crafty challenged these day,  not from a creative point but lack of time. I was knee deep in a training course this week and did not get a change to make one card.  This one I made a couple weeks ago.

I used lots of layers, popping up the frame with foam tape. I finished with some buttons and a little Wink of Stella on the reflection. I hope all you dad's out there are having a fabulous Father's Day.

Supplies: Cream and brown card stock, Stampscapes-Lake Side Reflections, MS Word- Happy Fathers Day, misc die cuts, buttons, twine

Tuesday Morning Sketches #305

We have a new sketch for Tuesday Morning Sketches, Melissa is our sponsor this week.

When I first saw this sketch I was not sure how my card would come together but as soon as I chose my theme and paper it all came together in a very short period of time. The sentiment on the inside of the card is Happy Retirement.

I have had this stamp set sitting within reaching distance for months and this sketch was perfect for the masculine card I had in mind.

I die cut the tag then stamped the vintage car on it. I then stamped the sentiment on the corner element. I added a small piece of ribbon to the tag and finished with some dots.

Supplies: White and black card stock, Designer Paper -Echo Park, technique Tuesday - All Aboard, misc die cuts, polymer dots, ribbon.

Better late than not at all.. My stamped image from Patti arrived and so I thought I would put it to use.

I went with a simple style, I turned the sketch and used a double-sided flag. I cut the circles with
stitched die cuts and popped them up with foam tape. Did I use too many patterns do you think.. perhaps :).

There is still time to play over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #304

We have a new Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge for you today. Our sponsor this week is Patti Rowe she is a CTMH Independent Demonstrator. It is Patti's birthday today so be sure to stop by her blog to say Hi and she has a fabulous Challenge Prize this week.

Unfortunately Canada Post did not deliver the stamp from Patti that I wanted to use so I ended up going with a retired favorite from CTMH - Spring.

Debbie created this fabulous sketch but alas I had to mess with that to :), I cut my flags too short so I ended up alternating the way they faced. I heat embossed this sentiment on vellum then over lapping the large flower also heat embossed. The center circle is popped up with foam tape. I finished with some sequins.

Supplies: White card stock, vellum, Designer Paper -Teresa Collins, CTMH - Spring, misc die cuts, sequins.

My card turned out much more detailed then it was going to be when I started out. I inked the edges of all the layers and I alternated with popping them up with foam tape. I finished with some twine.

Fur Babies

I -  like most people think furry critters are pretty cute, a co-worker drove all the way to Oregon this weekend to pick up there new little family member. I could not resist creating a small card for them.

For such a small card, 3.5 x 2.5 - big enough for a gift card, it has lots of layers. I pulled out my never far from the craft table stitched rectangle die cuts  and added a border layer to each of them. I embossed the paw print, layered it a popped it up with foam tape. I finished with some die cut hearts.

Supplies: Cream and brown card stock, Sweet Stamp Shop - Leave Paw Prints, Stampendous - Cling Paw, misc die cuts.
