The Challenge #70

Welcome to a new The Challenge, this week we have a Masculine Inspiration Challenge.

I know that this is a prop of a plane but the black and chrome just screams Harley Davidson to me :), typically that is exactly the type of card I would create. Especially as it is for my husband's 50th Birthday.

This year however, there is a group of '66 babies at my husbands work that decided it would be fun to head to Vegas as a group. Hence the theme of my card, with the heart of HD of course :).

I used stitched die cuts on the center panel, then popped it up with foam tape. I then embossed dice onto chrome/silver and black card stock before using the same die cuts to cut out rectangles and squares. I finished with the sentiment that is popped up and added a little twine,

Supplies: White, black, silver card stock, Papertrey Ink - Birthday Bash, Simon Says Stamps - Stitched die cuts, embossing folder, twine.

Think Tank

Think Tank.. Well actually a silhouette of a tank :) I bet there is a bit of thinking that comes along with driving one of these along.

I had such fun creating this card, adding all the small details. I cut the tank with my Silhouette. The hills are created with die cuts and popped up with foam tape. I printed off the flag and created two layers.

The card was well received so that always makes me happy.

Shear Excitement

I loved that I was able to get creative this past weekend, I will spare you the details but getting crafting has been difficult the past little while.

I had fun with this card though, I have found it is difficult to find crafty supplies for Hair Dressers/Stylist and so forth. I thanked my luck stars I found this cute DP. My stylist opened her own business so of course a card is needed :).

I printed off the papers and went with a simple design for my card base, using layers with foam tape for dimension. I cut the scissors with my Silhouette then coated them with silver Wink of Stella.

I used Word to print off the sentiments and also added a little black glitter foam and some embroidery thread.

Supplies: White and black card stock, Designer Paper - Lovelytocu, Shears - Silhouette, glitter foam, embroidery floss.

The Challenge #68

Welcome to a new The Challenge, this week it is all about the colours.

I found this fun brightly coloured paper in my stash and it worked nicely for the challenge. I heat embossed the large small on a small tag and then did the same for the flowers then fussy cut them out. I added some gems and popped them up with foam tape.

I then heat embossed the sentient and popped it up as well. I finished with lots of Wink of Stella on the flowers.

Supplies: White card stock, Designer Paper and sentiment stamps - Simon Says, Verve - Lean on Me, gems.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #200

It's something to celebrate:). Happy Monday, we have a new challenge for Merry Monday - it is our 200th challenge.

There are 4 options for this challenge, I chose to go with the colour challenge red, green, kraft and white. Of course I let all the paper do the work and just added some twine and a die cut button to finish.

Supplies: White card stock, Designer Paper - Carta Bella, misc die cut, twine.

Part of the challenge is to invite someone as a guest designer. I asked my sister Barb to join us. My blog was a birthday gift from my sister back in 2008, and she is always inspiring me with her amazing talent.

Be sure to stop by her blog Being Mrs. Miles to leave a little comment love. The rest of the team and their guests have created a ton of inspiration. Join in the celebration and play along at the Merry Monday blog.

Bring on the Happy

My craft room have been very neglected over the past little while. I did get a chance to put a little ink to paper the other day.

I am playing along with CAS Mix Up  - April addition :) Although in typical Nina fashion I may have missed the CAS mark I was hoping for.

I stencilled the background using Distress Inks, I then stamped the flowers and coloured them with matching Distress Markers. I was not using watercolour paper so the ink did not mingle all that well.

I die cut the Happy from glitter foam and head embossed the sentiment on black cardstock in white. The flowers and birthday are popped up with foam tape and then I used Wink of Stella with a heavy hand on the flowers. The center panel is then mount with a rectangle of foam.

Supplies: White and black card stock, Verve - Lean on Me, Technique Tuesday - Say It Happy.

The Challenge #67

We have a new challenge for The Challenge, this week the inspiration is a sketch.

I have been seeing gold used on many cards so I though I would see what I could create using a little of it.

I found this Designer Paper in my scrap bin and don't know what brand it is. I die cut the butterflies twice for layers,  the first layer is a  mulberry in brown then a layer of gold.  Mom is also from the same scrap of mulberry.

The gold is lighter than the picture shows and blends nicely with the colours on the background DP.

Supplies: White card stock, Designer Paper - Unknown, misc die cuts.
