The Challenge #75

Today is a Wild Card Challenge for #75 of The Challenge, and this week this means a sketch.

This card did not start out so monochromatic, but as I started to pull the elements together it just sort of fell into that. I used the Kaiser Craft #Me paper pad and the die cut pages just made it easy.

I die cut the butterfly then put it through my Minc to add a shiny pewter. I love the sentiment DP running along the middle and added some accent with black twine.

In place of the half circle I used a die cut from the pack in a gray woodgrain. I added in a little gray piece of cardstock behind the Smile sentiment then popped it up with foam tape. I added a few gems to the butterfly body and called it done.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #207

Good Morning and Happy Monday, we have a new Challenge for you for The Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge.

I am the hostess this week and my challenge is for you is to Make a Christmas card with a bag or sack on it.

I had all sorts of wonderful ideas for this challenge.. none of them worked. So in the end I used matching papers from a paper pad with a good number of Santa's with his sack of toys.

I added  the die cut to the corner for the sentiment and cut off the access then finished with some natural twine.

Happy Retirement

It almost looks like the sun is going to shimmer and shine a little today :). After the rain it will make my garden very happy.

Posts two days in a row, I have not accomplished that is a long time but boy does it feel great. Quality much needed craft time was productive.

I used a card from Pinterest for my inspiration. You can see that card HERE. I like this layout so I may use it a time or two more.

It is all about squares :) and one small rectangle. Stitched squares created the layers, which are separated by foam tape. Square punches formed the petals of my flower then I used my Crop-o-Dial to round the edges. Foam tape between the flower layers gives it dimension.

Happy is a die cut, 4 layers deep. I killed my Xyron in the process :(. I added the gem to a large sequin for the flower center. I finished with the sentiment which is also popped up with a little foam.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #343

It is a chilly rainy day outside, perfect for some crafty time. I am playing along with Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Always the sketch rebel, I switched it up a little with how it all lines up.

This DP is more from the mini haul pile and perfect for a Fathers Day card. The double sided masculine paper is from Photo Play.

I used the Inspired by Stamping Masculine Tag II and coordinating die cuts for the image and sentiment. I added a little wood grain texture under the image to match the background DP. I finished with some twine and a button.

Oh Happy Day

It felt so good to get into my craft space and create a little last night. This is a card for my co-worker who is moving into a new house they purchased.

Have you even been in a crafty mojo funk, no creativity, no inspiration.. yup. When I get like that I tend to do small little craft hauls in hopes of finding some inspiration in new supplies. So I had a couple little piles to choose from last night and bingo..

So in those little piles there was a fun and bright paper pack from Echo Park, and I wanted cheerful for this card. I also had this fun die cut from Your next die. I used Mama Elephant for these cute whimsical sentiments and finished with a little green twine.

Merry Monday Christmas card Challenge# 206

We have a new Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge. Lori is our hostess this week and her challenge is to Use a nativity scene on your Christmas card.

I used good ol' Google for my nativity scene, I don't have any stamps in my stash that would fit the bill so I relied on clipart.

I die cut the two frames with stitched die cuts then used my Minc to add more black to the silhouette and to create the gold panel. I used cardstock that has a light embossed texture on it, because of that the foil did not stick to tiny areas giving the panel and the sentiment a very cool look with tiny speck of black peeking through.

The Challenge #71

Welcome to a new The Challenge, this week we have a sketch to inspire you.

My crafty brain had a hard time with the circle element of my card. As I was on a wild hunt for a die cut, I had though to use a package of mixed elements I found that matched the paper. The flowers seemed work for me. I added some gold sparkle bits and finished with a sentiment.

Supplies: White card stock, Mama Elephant - Dream Big, Designer paper and elements - My Mind's Eye.

Flip Flops Thanks

My craft room is feeling abandoned after I have been away for a week. I ventured in to do a quick couple of cards yesterday and then sat down for some true creative time today.

I took me forever to get a theme in my head, in the end Flip Flops won the race. This little card is only a 3 inches high and about 2 inches across.

I stamped and fussy cut the flip flops and added some foam tape. The used a little washy tape for some added pizzazz. The sentiment is simple stamped and I finished with a little clear gel pen and gems.
