Little Bird

Another quick post this morning, and another thank you card :). I had the picture of this card in my head for two days before I could venture into the craft room to make it.
I heat embossed this little guy then added colour with Distress inks. Then I did a little fussy cutting and added dimension with some foam tape....On another note I use a ton of foam tape, in the crafty vids on YouTube you see tons of people using those wheels of foam tape and I was feeling a little left out. I ordered one from Amazon and it arrived yesterday, this beast is crazy big. I am going to love seeing how long it takes for me to whittle it down.

Onward... I pulled out my stitched square dies from SSS and created some panels. I will admit to having a bit of an obsession with plaid right now. I added a quick sentiment and some gems and in the mail it went.

Supplies: White card stock, Designer Paper - Lawn Fawn, Woodware - Tweet Birds, Clearly Besotted - Thank you, gems.

Flowered Thanks

Just a quick post this morning, I am running a little late :)

I trimmed two pieces of DP and added them to a small scrap of gray card stock. The flower is Simon Says Stamps, I coloured them up with Distress Inks. I added some simmer with my Zig and some gloss to the heart with Glossy Accents.

I die cut the sentiment, I should have put it a little higher but it is covering a boo boo ;). I finished with some sequins.

Supplies: White and gray card stock, Designer Paper - Simple Stories, Simon Says Stamps - Sketch Ranunculus and Thanks die, sequins.

Have a fabulous day,
Nina

Let's do the Flamingo

I created this card a couple of months ago and had a blog post half created.. stuff just got in the way.

I wanted to try my hand a spin card, I had created one before but it was a pretty simple one. This was a one of a two set that I created as a request. This was the winner but with the spin portion taking up so much card front they did not want the long winded birthday greeting they planned to show through when the card was closed :).

I have two separate greetings with this card so if someone wants it they get a choice of sentiments. I used ovals created from cardstock and vellum to background this cute flamingo. I had this fun summer Carta Bella paper in my stash so I used both sides of a page.

This is the last of the last for my room, this is corner to the left of my second desk. I have two older pieces of stackable storage from Michaels. The bottom holds 12 x 12 papers, Christmas, glitter and specialty.

The top holds, some scraps in bag (Neuters), spare cutting mats, watercolour paper and misc items. I have my pad of grid paper and my Scorpal hiding in between these and the desk (not shown). I have keep my Cuttlebugs on top, the magical gold one is the what hubby brought me when 'Bug" gave up the goose. At the last used paper craft sale a lady was selling her bug and a bunch of accessories, I offered $20 and voila, backup "Bug".

Alex has from the bottom up, punches, more punches, my Silhoette, Cricut stuff, stickers and rub-ons, ribbon.

This is my computer desk, it is "the office" and no crafty shenanigans shall grace its top.

Supplies: White and green cardstock, Designer Paper - Carta Bella, SSS stamps and diecuts, La Petites - Flamingo.

Birthday Cupcakes

Good Day, and hello November... where oh where has this year flown the coup too.

I am not loving my card, I keep looking at it and I think it is the raspberry coloured card stock. I don't use coloured card stock very often, preferring neutrals like brown, grey and black. The card is for a pink loving little lady so I am sure she won't judge.

I pulled out my Stickles, they blinked their little glittery peepers at the bright light as I dug them from the bowels of the drawer I had them hiding in. I stamped these cute little cupcakes and added the Stickles so I could put them aside to dry. I used a couple of pieces of DP from the same paper pad to create the background.

Supplies: White and raspberry card stock, Designer Paper - Echo Park, Lawn Fawn - You are all I knead, Stickles.

I have a few more pictures to share as well, these are two of my embellishment centers,

This is my second craft desk, it is sadly under utilized as a desk per say. I tend to using it for my Cuttlebug/die cutting and laying out supplies as I create something. Most of the drawers on the right side are full of embellishments. The top holds my Misti's and some other tools, but I I move down the drawer I have a drawer for gems, another for sequins and so on.

The drawers on the left side hold stamp blocks and inks, pre-cut and folded card bases, embossing folders, die cuts and Cuttlebug accessories.

There is a stack of 12 x 12 bins at the side of the desk as well. They hold indivigual papers as well as my 12 x 12 pads I still have.

Just to the right of this desk and on the wall is one of my embellishment stations I picked up from Micheal's years ago. I as I was organizing my craft space I purged a ton of ribbon, this is what is left of my spools. I have most of my buttons here as well.

The embellishment centers have always been pretty neat and tidy but with those zones I keep mentioning I wanted to shift some stuff around.

Over on the wall left of the desk and near the door I have an Alex a Raskog cart and my second embellishment station. This Alex unit hold a lot of misc items, tools, adhesives, and card sleeves.

It is topped with 6x6 paper pads, these are my Christmas paper pads. Being on the Merry Monday DT it is creative Christmas all year round in my craft space so these inspire me being on display.

I wanted a Raskog so badly and I have not even put more that a few item in the top self :(.

I removed all the ribbon and the spindles from this second station, with the downsized ribbon cache I did not need them any more and instead put a few of my wooden stamps on display. I have all my twine and washi tape here as well.

That it for today,
Nina

Awesome Birthday and the tour continues..

We had a good number of trick or treaters last night, I love seeing all the costumes. We left picking up a pumpkin till the very last moment.. We are usually much better at planning. We ended up with these itty bitty little pumpkins that fit in the palm of my hand, I lined them up along the railing and no one seemed to care that we did not carve one.

In between knocks and the doorbell I actually made a card. My Saturday was suppose to be this wonderful creative day, instead I spent hrs sorting my scraps. I found some great DP bits and I figured out I have tons of neutral coloured pieces of cardstock which are now in separate storage so I can take advantage. So this card is made from the scrap bins.

I love layers, it makes for easy cards. This DP is double-sided so that adds to the easy. I heat embossed the sentiment and added foam tape between each layer. I found this cool ribbon in the scrap bin too and it matched so I used it :). I finished with sequins.

Supplies: White and black card stock, Designer Paper Best Creation Inc, Hot off the Press - Birthday Cheer, sequins.

Now onto the tour - this is my fabulous primary desk, I had planned to get one made with all cabinets/drawers under it. When we were at Ikea (a sip of coffee or wine for every mention of Ikea over my last few posts :)) anyhow.. Husband spotted this desk, I prefer to stand when I craft so this Skarsta sit/stand desk is perfect. I am taller and this desk lifts high enough to accommodate my long legs.

I found the Micke drawer set that fits under it nicely, even if I was to lower the desk. I also found this very cool Janinge stool that allows me to sit at my desk should I want to, it will lower or raise up a good span. The Micke and Janinge fit under the desk so they are not in the way. I hide my trimmer and paper cutter on top of the draw set, which is super easy to reach.

I ordered this high quality architects lamp which adds direct light to what I am working on. I have the same bulb in both the ceiling fixture and the lamp for consistency.
On my desk I have my Boon, wire letter holder, scrap bin and self healing mat.

I found these Projs desk pads at the same time I found the desk and they work fabulously under my self healing mats to give a little extra protection to the desks.

A little high level view of a clean work space, and although I usually have a couple of extra items on my desk I typically have it pretty clean between projects. I used Stampin' Up! grid paper over my mats, it cleans up easy and I just fold them up and pop in the recycle bin. The lamp is hiding it but I have small square glass bowl that I store my Absorber in, best clean up item ever.

My new desk is so much more spacious than before, this was my work surface on the old desk, cramped and not a lot of leg room.

That is the card and tour for today,
Nina
