Wonderful Christmastime

Today's card is a kaleidoscope of sorts. It started out that way but I was not very diligent when I was cutting the panels. I like how it turned out, this is two sides of a double-sided paper.

I added a die-cut Christmas tree from Carta Bella, it has some foam tape behind it to give it depth. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock. I finished with some gems.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper -  Tim Holtz, Carta Bella - Snowy Pines, gems.

Season's Greetings

I have a holiday napkin card for this morning's post. The design is the same as previous napkin cards, as always I wanted to showcase the pattern on the napkin.

Merry & Bright

Happy Saturday, I have another holiday napkin card for this morning's post. The design is not much different from the previous napkin cards, I wanted to showcase the pattern on the napkin.

I was sad that the silver shimmer of some of the snowflakes did not make it through the Mod Podge. I die-cut a stitched rectangle for the panel base, then added the napkin panel. The sentiment is heat embossed in white on black, I finished with some gems.

Gnome for the holidays

Napkins, Napkins everywhere.

I love this cute gnome design, I prepped the panel, die cut it once it was dry. I then added it to a stitched rectangle panel. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black then finished with half pearls.

Happiest of days

I pulled out some new Kaisercraft paper for my card today, I used a newer paper pad it has all the popout and premade sentiments in the back. I was drawn to the pears of all things.

I wanted a simple card so I picked two of the patterns and made two panels have the size of the card base. I pulled one of the border punched piece out and added in midway on the card.

I added foam tape to the sentiment tag, then tied some twine on to it. I also added a layer of foam tape to the round pair popout. I finished this card with some Nuvo drops.

Supplies: Cream cardstock, Designer Paper - KaiserCraft, Nuvo drops.

Dashing through the snow.

I may have purchased a few too many holiday napkin cards, I think in fact I have napkins till the end of time.

There is something very relaxing about these cards, I think it is how simple that first few steps are. You can get much more basic than a bottle of glue and a brush.

I cut my pieces of cardstock, I have found white is the best colour, any other colour messes with the pattern on the napkin. The cardstock panel is always a little larger than I need, two reasons, 1 the edges may not have the napkin fully adhered, and two it leaves a little extra to create an element inside the card.

I used a thicker paintbrush, about an inch wide, and I made sure all my supplies are there at my fingertips, the Mod Podge, the brayer, napkin panel and brush. I found I can eliminate a large amount of the mess if I used a piece of parchment paper as my work surface. I cut my napkin into the four individual panels and I am ready to start.

I add a layer of Mod Podge to my cardstock panel, carefully drape the napkin piece of the panel, then using the brayer to make sure if is flat on the panel then I add another layer of Mod Podge to seal it. It is rare that I have been able to avoid any small folds as I do this, in my mind, it adds character.

I let the panels dry, it should only take a couple of hrs to fully dry but I usually let it sit overnight, when the panels are wet they curl a little but then lay flat again after they dry. I find I like to die cut the panel, I have not had any lifting of the napkin from the cardstock but I like the perfect edges a die-cut provides.

I die cut a layer of black cardstock, I love how it makes the napkin panel pop. I wanted these cards to go through the mail with no issues so the only foam tape is on the sentiment panel that is heat embossed in white on black. I finished the card with some gems.

Happy for you

Good Morning, I love the vibrant colours on this card. This was created a few weeks ago for a friend who finished a contract at work and is moving on to something fabulous.

I know it is not in the theme of Merry Monday but I have a few cards waiting in the wings to post and a few of those are for the Holiday season.

This is a simple layout, I cut a black panel of cardstock. I also cut a smaller panel of designer paper then I cut it four ways pie style. I tried to evenly space the panels to create a thin black border between each piece. I added some foam tape to the back of two of the panels and that made it a little harder to align them.

The patterned paper has gold foil on it and I tried to match the half pearls I added top the same tone of gold.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Recollections, Simon Says Stamp - Sentiment strips, pearls.

Happy For you

Happy December, I had fun with this card.

I started by heat embossing some images in silver then I moved on to some ink blending, I used a few different colours of distress inks. I added some ink splatter in white, silver and pewter.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black. I die cut the frame, then added the layer of foam tape to the center panel. I finished with some black gems.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Gina K Designs - Boho Flowers, Simon Says Stamp - Simple Sentiments 02, gems.
