Beautiful Moments

It might be time to haul out the ModgePodge again, it has not been up on the shelf for long. Have you ever looked at something and with your crafter's brain thought that would make a nice card. I have a large.. I mean LARGE stash of napkins to craft with.

I do that all the time with napkins, I don't buy patterned napkins to use as a napkin, but to create something.

This little gem is a napkin my sister gifted me with on her last visit. I created a panel using Modge Podge as glue and sealant then added it to a layer of black cardstock to frame it, I then mounted it to a card base using foam tape.

I added a few green gems and a sentiment heat embossed in white on black card stock.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Tim Holtz - Tiny Text Messages, napkin, gems.

Happy Saturday,
Nina

Hello Autumn

I have a one-layer Autumn card to share this post.

I started by creating a masked design on white cardstock, I blended distress inks to add a layer of autumn colours. Once that was dry I stamped a grid pattern then removed the strips of thin painter's tape I had used to mask the design.

I used a large scene stamp and then stamped the Hello Autumn sentiment. I added a layer of brown cardstock and adhered the panel to a card base.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, For the love of Stamps - Autumn Harvest, Simon Says Stamps - Sketchy Lines Background.

Happy Retirement

This is one of my favourite stamp sets, I started the card by watermarking the cardstock with Versamark, then set the panels aside to dry. I then heat embossed the flowers in silver and die-cut them out.

I layered the turquoise panels with silver cardstock, the top panel is popped up with foam tape. I arranged the flowers and popped up two of them; the sentiment is stamped in black and also popped up with foam tape.

I finished the card with pewter gems.

Zest Wishes

Good day all - this will be a quick post... because all the others are so long :). I cannot take credit for the design of this card as it is from a Simple Stories card kit but I still want to share the results.

I have never been very good at putting together layered elements, a tuck here and overlap there so I wanted to try the kit.

I had fun making the cards, I think the kit make 10 cards in all, and the instructions were easy to follow, the results are pretty good too.

Supplies: Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Lemon Twist card kit.

Birthday Wishes

I don't recall which panel die cut this is, I think it is one of those ones that someone has and you run a couple through the die cutting machine at a retreat. Either way, it is gorgeous with a blended background.

The panel is popped up with foam tape, then I glued clear gems into each of the circles. I stamped the sentiment and adhered it to the panel.

Supplies: White cardstock, panel die-cut, Sentiment - Birthday Wishes, gems.

Magic of Christmas

It has been a while since I posted a card for Merry Monday.

This card was simple to put together, I saw this designer paper and I loved it.

I used a rectangle die-cut to cut out a landscape scene. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black then added a layer of black cardstock to the panel.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Craft O'Clock, Stampers Anonymous - Tiny Text Christmas.

Music Speaks

I wanted to showcase this panel with its sentiment, I love the words. I created layers with kraft and black cardstock and popped up the top panel with some foam tape.  I did not want to add any embellishments.

The bottom layer is the pattern from the reverse side of the panel, layered with some black cardstock.

Supplies: Natural white, kraft and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Graphic 45.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Cheers,
Nina

Home

This card came together quickly once that little idea spark hit. This paper is adorable, both patterns are from the same 6 x8 paper pad.

I started with the base layer of polka dots, I did not feel that the panels need an extra frame as I want this to be a clean and simple card.

I then cut the top layer, and from the remaining paper pieces I fussy cut extra houses. The panel and some of the houses have foam tape in behind to pop them up. I heat embossed the sentiment in gold then die cut it using the coordinating die set.

The gold embossing on both panels worked as embellishments.

My Hero

My card idea is not overly creative, when it comes to some cards I just have to take something someone loves and make it work. In this case, the recipient loves anime, so off I went to search the interwebs for an image that would work.

I saved the image, adjusted its size to fit with a standard A2 sized card and voila.

I die-cut letters and popped them up with foam tape, heat embossed the sentiment, which is also rocking a foam tape base then adhered the whole thing to a layer of black cardstock.

The letters were a little fussy to work with as they have the inner section then the thin frame piece but I think it turned out ok.

Supplies: White, Black and burnt orange cardstock, Hero Arts - DC-286, Sizzix-AlphaNumeric Varsity.

Happy Friday,
Nina

Wishing you...

Oh my, it is worst than I thought, I have not posted since August 😞.

Well, I have a card today,  I have a small number in my stash, and perhaps posting will inspire me to create as well. I fear that the hobby of purchasing craft supplies has far surpassed the hobby of creating.

If you follow my blog then you know that I love layers, the bottom wood grain panel had a layer of black cardstock for a thin border. I did the same for the top layer but added in some foam tape for dimension.

I head embossed in silver on vellum and wrapped it around the top panel. I finished the card with some gems.

I made this card back in the summer, the paper I used for this card has been purged from my memory, if I recall what it is I will come back and update my blog.

Supplies: White, black and vellum cardstock, Designer Paper - Unknown, CC Designs - Sentiment,  gems.

Cheers,
Nina
