Awesome Day

Hello, crafty friends, I have a fun layered card to share today.

I found a 6x6 paper pad in the free stuff at the last crop I attended, I was able to put together a couple of cards in my head right away, this was one of them.

I started by layered 4 mini sentiment panels with black cardstock, I added foam tape to the back of one of them.

I layered the base panel with black cardstock and added it to the card base, then I added all the smaller panels.

I layered a sentiment strip with foam tape, and the card was done.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Simple Stories, The Ton - Sentiment stamps.

Full of thanks

Hello crafty friends, it is washi tape Wednesday and I am also playing along with Tuesday Morning Sketches.

When I saw this sketch, I knew it would be perfect for some washi tape. I started by laying down two pieced of washi tape, overlapping them slightly.

For the square element I used square die cuts and created a frame in black and a square of vellum, then I tucked some flowers into the corners. I added a sentiment strip popped up with foam tape then added some dew drops and sequins.

Supplies:  White and black cardstock, vellum, washi tape, My Favorite Things - Stitch flowers, Simon Says Stamp - sentiment stamps, dew drops, sequins

Dazzle

Hello, crafty friends, I have a simple design for my card.

I started with a linen cardstock and added extra texture with an embossing folder. I added some thin strips of navy cardstock and a bow with foam tape.

I adhered the panel to a piece of navy cardstock and popped it up with foam tape on the card base.

I added gems to each little round flat section left by the embossing folder.

For now, I will leave the card without a sentiment; it can always be added later, or I can just dazzle the recipient with the gems.

Supplies: Cream, linen and navy cardstock, Penny Black - Jumbo Bauble, embossing folder gems

So Loved

Hello crafty friends.

I created this card for Valentine's day, but I don't think this card is limited to that. The layout is simple, layers.

I layered two panels of patterned paper with black cardstock, I did the same with the sentiment panel and added some foam tape. I finished the card with some dew drops.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Echo Park, dew drops.

Sun kissed

Hello, crafty friends; I had fun playing with some papers from Graphic 45 this past weekend.

I made great use of the premade panels for my card. I started with a piece of designer paper and added a layer of black cardstock.

Each paper page with panels also has strips of sentiments and patterns, so I cut one with shells and glued it along the bottom. I used a section with sentiments and sun dollars, layered it with black cardstock, and added that.

I layered a panel and a strip with turtles and added foam tape to adhere to, and the card was done.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Graphic 45.

I added some washi tape to the cardstock and then used some circle die cuts. I added some branches underneath and then adhered them with foam tape.

I had some cute glitter die-cut butterflies from a dollar store and tacked them down with double-sided tape.

I added a sentiment with foam tape and some holographic half-pearls. I adhered to the panel with some foam tape.

Java

Hello crafty friends, latte, anyone?

I had no idea what card to put together when I entered my craft room. I was flipping through my pile, yes a pile, my craft room looks like a someone tossed it right now.

I came across this coffee-themed vellum, and the ideas started flowing. Next, I pulled out the Thanks a Latte stamp and die set. I had a scrap of masculine designer paper on my desk; it worked perfectly under the vellum. I added a layer of brown cardstock and some foam tape.

I stamped and die cut the coffee cup, sleeve and the lid, I added some foam tape to pop them up, the lid tilt was a result of it dropping and leaving some glue that needed to be covered.

I added the sentiment, the steam and the gems to finish the card.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Photoplay, Specialty Paper - Moda Scrap, Your Next Stamp & Die - Thanks a Latte, gems.

Snowflakes in the Air

Merry Monday, crafty friends. I am playing with a card kit from Simple Stories for my card today.

I like to have card kits in my stash for days when I want to create, but I am not feeling creative enough to come up with something original.

This kit has a nice mix of card bases, papers, die cuts and chipboard elements. I followed the example for this card for the most part, I added some foam tape here and there.

Supplies: Simple Stories card kit - The Little Things.

Most of this card has been sitting on my desk unfinished; I finally put it all together today.

I started with a piece of brown cardstock and added two pieces of coordinating patterned paper on the upper and lower sections.

Hello crafty friends, Happy Thursday.  I am playing along with this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I started with a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller than the card base and used an embossing folder to add some texture. I coloured some paper strips using distress ink to try to imitate the colours of the uniform pants.

Thank you

Hello, crafty friends; it is Washi tape Wednesday, and I have a super easy card to share.

I was not feeling overly crafty, so I cut a piece of cardstock and found some Washi tape that appealed to me. This was not too difficult, considering the ridiculous amount of washi tape I have.

I laid down a strip of washi, some overlapping until I was happy with the pattern. I used a second strip of the piece with " Thank you " on it and cut it for a stand-alone sentiment. I added black cardstock and foam tape to make it pop.

I added foam tape to the panel and mounted it on a card base. I finished the card with some gems.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Washi tape, gems.

Search for the simple

Hello, crafty friends. Are you ready for a blast from the past? Once upon a crafty minute or two ago, I loved sketch challenges, and one of my favourites was CAS(E) this Sketch!

So, for my post today, I am going to use a sketch from when that challenge was running. If you are interested, you can find the sketches HERE. Old posts can be found HERE for inspiration.

I started with a scrap scalloped rectangle and used the die cut to make it into a square. I used scrap or darker blue cardstock and added texture with an embossing folder.

I used a second piece of darker blue cardstock and die-cut daisies. The stems are from a scrap of green cardstock, and the centrepieces are gold. I used a sticker from a Spellbinder kit for the sentiment.

I finished the card with some dew drops and the small gold dots left over from the daisy center die cut. I could not get a picture that reflected the true colours, but it will do.

Supplies: White, blue, green cardstock, Designer Paper & die cuts Spellbinders, Lawn Fawn - Scalloped Rectangle Stackables, gems.
