Magic of Winter

Good Morning, and Merry Monday, I was so sick with a horrid cold last week. I hope you are able to steer clear of the viruses out there.

For the card today, I used one of the Penny Black Masterpieces made simple.

I started with a layer of patterned paper I love this plaid design with the gold lines. I added a layer of brown cardstock to to the panel.

I added a layer of brown cardstock to the masterpiece panel then popped it up with foam tape.

Adding to this simple design, I cut a sentiment strip and added a brown cardstock layer, and adhered it with foam tape. I finished with some clear gems.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Designer paper - Memory Box, Penny Black - Masterpieces, Simon Says Stamp - Sentiment Strips, gems.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #684 - Magic

I am playing along with the current sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I used lots of layers for my card. I die-cut a circle from vellum then added Moda Scrap gelly using a stencil, I watered a little down and used a paint brush to splat a smaller pattern.

I die-cut snowflakes from silver cardstock, the paper pack I was using comes with some stickers so I used one for the sentiment, I layering it with patterned paper and popping it up with foam tape. I finished the card with some gems.

Supplies: White and silver cardstock, Designer Paper - Photoplay & Vellum, Penny Black - Dancing Snowflakes, Echo Park - Snowfall stencil,  Moda Scrap - Gelly, gems.

Tis the Season

Merry Monday time, and I have a new card to share with a clean and simple design.

I think sometimes I am a lazy cardmaker, I love layers, most of my cards are just that, layers. I cut two different patterned paper panels in different sizes then added a layer of gray cardstock. I love the red foil on all those festive words.

I cut out the sentiment panel, then used foam tape to adhere the top two layers. I snuck some silver twine under the sentiment panel then added some gems to finish.

Supplies: White and grey cardstock, Designer Paper, twine, gems.

Did you know: Polar Bear fur is not white, it is clear.

Tuesday Morning Sketches # 683 - Snowflakes

Apparently I liked this Photoplay paper pack so much I purchased it twice. I feel like I should use it. I am playing along with the current Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.

I also need to play a little catch up on Holiday cards.

I do not have in my crafty stash a large star, so I pulled out my stitched triangles and made a large triangle snowflake. I used three different sizes of triangle, I die cutting four of each size, alternating between patterned paper and silver shimmer cardstock, each layer is adhered with foam tape. I added a snowflake as the top.

I cut strips of a coordinating patterned paper and layered them with foam tape, I used the silver shimmer cardstock in the recessed spaces. I die cut two additional snowflakes as sidekicks to the large one then added the sentiment strip. The card is finished with some gems.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper - Photoplay Recollections - Silver shimmer cardstock, Stampin' Up!-Stitched Triangles, Simon Say sentiment Strips, Penny Black - snowflakes, gems.

Winter is Magic

Good Morning and Merry Monday - I am using one of my favorite sketches for the card today.

I die-cut two each of the stitched rectangle and squares from patterned paper then added them to a layer of black cardstock.

I used of the a decorative square from the paper pad with the snowflake, added a layer of black cardstock and foam tape to adhere it.

The card is finished with an enamel dot and a sentiment strip sentiment that has a layer of foam tape.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper & enamel dot- Echo Park, Simon Say stamp - Sentiment Strip.

Stranger Things - Happy Birthday

Have you watched Stranger Things - I have a couple of times, mostly because by the time a new season comes out I forget all the previous seasons and need to rewatch them.

Theme cards can be so fun to make, in this case pretty darn easy.

I purchased a .SVG file from Etsy with the intention of using my Silhouette to cut it out. I liked the image in printed form for this card instead.

I layered the panel with black then red cardstock and adhered it with some foam tape. I downloaded the Stranger Things font for the sentiment strip, I layered that with black cardstock, then some foam tape.

I finished the card by adding some tiny multicoloured gems onto the Christmas lights in the image.

Supplies: White, black, and red cardstock, Stranger Things font, Stranger Things svg file, gems.

Did you know: Before being picked up by Netflix, Stranger Things was rejected by fifteen networks.

Waves

I found this JustRite stamp set in my supplies as I was sorting and prepping for a used stamp sale. I had forgotten I had them.

Crystal had a technique class for the ribbon technique, I did not follow the directions very well but I am happy with the card.

I embossed the bottom panel with a texture that reminds me of wooden planks (decking). Using multiple strips of coordinating patterns I created a crisscross pattern on cardstock then matted that with a sand coloured panel.

I stamped the imagine then die cut it, the ovals did not line up so I cut the bottom stitched oval in half then overlapped it. I added some silver twine, and foam tape to pop it up. I finished with some gems, two of them hiding the seam from where I cut the oval.

Supplies: White, blue and sand cardstock, Designer paper - Simple Stories, JustRite - By the Sea, gems.

Another fabulous sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I alternated strips of patterned paper and a woodgrain silver embossed paper, I love this effect. I stamped the sentiment then wanted to add a little something.

I die-cut a daisy then popped it up with some foam tape. I added some gems then finished the card by adding some foam tape to the panel.
