Beauty of Winter

Merry Monday time,  I have discovered a new favorite craft items. Penny Black - Masterpieces made simple. I don't remember where I found this first set or why I brought them other than they appealed to me.

When I went to craft retreat in September I put them in with all my other kit in case I decided to do something with them. I quickly fell in love. Like any panel it makes it so easy to work with, paired with plaid that has hints of gold. Magical.

This card was made with one of the panels in the set is Icy Winds.

I layered the panel with some gray cardstock them popped it up with foam tape. I layered that on the to plain panel that is also layered with gray cardstock. I used a sentiment strip, layered and popped up and I finished with some some clear gems.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper - Memory Box, Penny Black - Masterpieces made simple, Simon Says Sentiment Strips, gems.

I expect there will be a few more cards made with these panels from Penny Black - I jumped online to pick up a few more sets :).

Did you know: Most bird bones are so hollow and light, their feathers weigh more than their skeleton.

Cheers,

All you do.

Happy Friday, it is starting to feel like fall outside.

This 49th and Market paper arrived in my mailbox this week; I am in love.

This card was so quick to put together; I cut a base piece of the darker paper, then did the same with one of the pieces that had more of a pattern on it.

I added a couple of the chipboard pieces, then cut a sentiment strip, popped it up with foam tape, then finished the card with some gems.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper and chipboard pieces - 49th and Market, Simon Says Stamp - Sentiment strips, gems.

Did you know: The funny bone is not actually a bone. It's actually a really sensitive nerve; hitting that nerve is not funny at all.

Happy Crafting,

Season Greetings

I have a Merry Monday card to share this morning. I love the non-traditional colours on this paper.

I started with a brown cardstock panel and then cut two pieces of designer paper. For the top piece, I added a stitched edge and then popped the panel up with some foam tape.

The bottom panel looks like a cozy sweater. I used one of the sentiment panels from the paper pad and added a layer of foam tape. I finished the card by adding some gems

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Honey Bee, MFT - Stitched edge dies, gems.

Did you know: The original pack of Skittles doesn't contain the color blue. Therefore, you can't actually taste the rainbow.

Happy Crafting,
Nina

Happy Birthday

Fall is in the air, and it is always a time for me to want to get back into the craft room. I felt pretty crafty at a recent retreat, and I managed to put together a few cards.

I cut a panel of pretty cardstock, then added a couple of stitched die cut triangles. I die cut a privet branch and cut it up to tuck it under the panels. The cut the sentiment strip and popped it up with foam tape. I finished the card with some gems.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer paper - Honey Bee, Stamp'in Up! - Stitched Triangles, Simon Says Stamp - Privet Branch and sentiment strip, gems.

Did you know: September is the only month with the same number of letters(9) as its place in the year (9th month).

Cheers,
Nina
