Happy Halloween

Hello crafty friends, I have a Halloween card to share today. To early? Perhaps, the paper pad is new, and I could not wait to slice into it and I had fun making it.

I started with a panel of patterned paper, I added some coordinating strips in a couple of corners. I then added the center panel.


I cut out some small stamp shapes and adhered them with foam tape. I created the sentiment in Word and layered it with black cardstock and popped it up with foam tape.

I finished the card with some gems.

Sparkles Christmas challenge - #188 How Sweet It Is

Hello crafty friends, I am playing along with the Sparkles Christmas challenge - the challenge is to Include something sweet.

The Moda Scrap - Sweet Christmas paper pack was perfect for this challenge. 
 I love the soft colours, I went with a clean and simple card, the paper did all the work.


I started with a panel of patterned paper then added a panel of coordinating paper.

I love this font I found on Dafont, the scrip makes me happy, I created the sentiment in Word an adhered it to a strip of patterned paper with foam tape.

I finished the card with some half pearls.

Bee Happy

Hello crafty friends and I have a fun card to share for Washi Tape Wednesday.

The design is simple, I laid down washi tape on a panel of white cardstock, I layered that with some black cardstock and popped it up with foam tape.


I created the sentiment using MS Word and layered it with black cardstock and foam tape.
I finished the card with black half pearls.

Merry & Bright

Hello crafty friends, I have a another layered card to share today for Merry Monday.

This card came together pretty quickly once I selected the patterns I wanted to use. I cut the designer paper panels then layered them with black cardstock.


I added some foam tape to the sentiment panel, then finished the card with some clear gems.

Warm Fall Wishes

Hello crafty friends, I have a card to share for Washi tape Wednesday.
 
I feel fall in the air, the days are shorter so I was inspired to create a Autumn themed card.

I started with a piece of white cardstock and added strips of Washi tape. I added some strips of dark brown cardstock. I used a stylus to add some raised lines at the top and bottom of the panel, I added a sentiment strip layered with brown cardstock and foam tape. 


I finished the card with some dew drops.

Did you know: Squirrels’ brains actually grow larger in the fall to help them remember where they buried thousands of acorns and nuts for the winter.

Merry & Bright

Hello crafty friends, I have a layered card to share for Merry Monday.

This card was all about using scraps, I was flipping through my large selection of Christmas paper pads and when I pulled this pad out containing these papers they scattered across my desk. I was inspired.


I cut the pieces to the desired dimensions and layered them all with black cardstock, I glued them all in place with the exception of the sentiment panel which is popped up with foam tape.

I added a scrap of ribbon and finished the card with gems. All-in-all this card came together pretty quickly.

Did you know: Tinsel was invented in 1610 using real silver.

Cardz 4 Galz - #283

Hello crafty friends, I am playing along with Cardz 4 Galz again today. The challenge isa colour challenge and to use kraft and blue.

I started with a shape die cut and layered that with a circle die from blue. I then added flowers punched from blue and white cardstock.


I added blue and silver gems to the center of the flowers and added a sentiment strip popped up with foam tape.

Happiness

Hello crafty friends, I have a fun masculine card to share today.

I started with a layer of patterned paper and added a strip of coordinating cardstock across the bottom.

I die cut a panel of vellum and designer paper, I used a mountain sticker across the patterned paper over. I used a truck sticker that I adhered to cardstock and fussy cut it out and layered it with foam tape.


I used MS word for the sentiment and adhered that with foam tape. I finished the card with some twine and gems.

Hello crafty friends, I have a card to share for Washi Tape Wednesday. 

I started with a layering washi tape from AALL Create. I layered that on black cardstock and foam tape.

I had a scrap of white embossed cardstock and layered that with black cardstock. I added a strip of black cardstock across the center of the panel then adhered the washi tape panel with foam tape.


I used MS work to create the sentiment, which I recreated from a Simon Says Stamp sentiment strip which has a typo. I layered the sentiment with black cardstock.

I added some gems to finish the card.

Hello craft friends, and Merry Monday. 

I started with a panel of patterned paper and added a layer of black cardstock, I did the same with a second panel created with a coordinating cardstock. I die cut a snowflake from the same paper as the background and adhered it. 


I added a sentient strip layered with white cardstock and foam tape. I finished the card with small black gems.

Sparkles Christmas Challenge - #187 Clean and Simple

Hello crafty friends, I am playing along with Sparkles Christmas challenge - the challenge is clean and simple.

This was a super simple card to put together, 
I struggle sometimes with not adding layers to all my panels but I love how this turned out. 

I started by cutting two pieces of designer paper from a paper pad and used them to create the background panel. I added a strip from the back side of one of those piece for the thin strip across the middle.


The sentiment panel is from the same paper pad and I layered that with foam tape. I finished the card with some dew drops.

Cardz 4 Galz - #282 Blue skies

Hello crafty friends, I have a card created with a clean and simple design today, I am also playing along with the current challenge for Cardz 4 Galz. The challenge for #282 is Blue Skies.

I have a friend you has a group of ladies she meets for a swim in a ocean cover not far from us. I am always creating ocean themed cards for her. This one will be one for the stash.

I started with a panel of designer paper and added a layer of black cardstock. I added a sentiment strip layered with foam tape and finished with a few dew drops.

Winter Wishes

Hello crafty friends, and Merry Monday. I have a quick and simple card to share today.

With some of the paper packs available today, it makes creating a pretty card quickly, but perfect at the same time. The only person who knows how you made it and how quickly is you :) well, unless you share.

I started this card with a piece of patterned paper. I cut a slightly smaller piece of coordinating paper and layered it with foam tape.


I used a premade sentiment panel from the same paper pad and layered that with a thinner foam tape, and finished the card with some clear gems.

Farewell

Hello crafty friends, and happy Friday. I have a farewell card to share today.

I started with a piece of patterned paper and added it to a dark blue piece of cardstock. I then added some texture with an embossing folder.


I die cut some florals from dark blue cardstock and added them to the panel. I used MS Word and printed the sentiment, layering them with dark blue cardstock and foam tape.
I finished the card with some dew drops.

Did you know: You can slice a circle straight through the middle in as many directions as you want, and both sides will always match perfectly. This means a circle has an endless number of symmetry lines.

Sense of wonder

Hello crafty friends, it has been a while since I have posted for Washi Tape Wednesday. I have a quick and easy card to post.

I started with a wide strip of washi tape and adhered that to a strip of white cardstock. I layered that with black cardstock to create a thin frame above and below the washi tape pattern. I glued that to a 4 1/4 square card base.


I added a sentiment strip layered with black cardstock. I love the peaceful scene the washi tape creates, so I finished the card with some gems.

Did you know: Birch trees are amazing, paper-barked wonders of the northern forests that can burn even when they are wet and taste like wintergreen.

Merry Little Christmas

Hello crafty friends, I tried something different for this Merry Monday and I am not loving it but it was still fun to create.

I started with a piece of patterned paper, I created a folded open envelope and added an coordinating piece of cardstock in the inside then a small image panel and adhered with foam tape.

I added a strip of designer paper along the bottom of the panel and layered the sentiment on top with foam tape. I finished the card with gems.

I would try this technique again, I would make a few changes though.

Hello crafty friends, happy Friday. I am sharing a card I made a while back. It is a simple design, letting the paper be the showcase.

I love these soft patterns, I started with a back ground panel that I layered with black cardstock. Next I cut out and created the sentiment panel, then layered it with black cardstock and foam tape.


I finished the card with some dew drops.

Guitar Magic

Hello crafty friends, I have a musical card to share today.

I started with a panel created from a large sticker.

I die-cut the guitar and music element from a blend of black and kraft cardstock. I added interest to the kraft cardstock by inking the edges. I added some gems to the guitar headstock.


I added a sentiment strip, then finished the card with a smattering of gems.

Did you know: Ink daubers degrade over time? I pulled out my daubers to ink edges, and they all fell apart. Ink daubers (like foam sponge blending tools or bingo dot markers) break down primarily because of the solvents in their ink, exposure to light, and natural foam degradation.

Holidays

Hello crafty friends, I have a nice, easy design for my card for Merry Monday. I am using a sketch I found on Pinterest.

I started with a panel of blue-gray cardstock, and I added three panels of coordinating cardstock.



I added a sentiment panel, also layered with blue-gray cardstock and some foam tape. I attempted to create an embellishment on the sentiment strip, but it looks more like an attempted fix that I am not loving. I finished the card with some dew drops.

Martial Arts Birthday

Hello crafty friends, I have a sporty card to share today.

I was asked to create a Martial Arts inspired card for a friend. I started with three silhouette images of Martial Arts fighters from Cricut that I cut from black cardstock.


I cut a panel of patterned paper, then die-cut an outline of a brick wall. I also die-cut the wall from burgundy cardstock and added it to the panel. I layered that onto gray cardstock, I used some thinly applied liquid glue to add some texture to the bricks, and once that was dry added some black ink with a brush to add interest. I layered that entire panel with a piece of black cardstock.

I added the fighters and sentiment strip with foam tape, then finished the card with gems.

Merry Christmas

Hello crafty friends, I have a card made with a quick design for Merry Monday.

I used a panel of patterned paper and die cut an outline of trees, I used foam tape to adhere it to a second panel slightly bigger from the same paper pad. This allowed the bottom layer to show through the space left in the center of the trees.


I used a sentiment from the same paper pad, and layered that with foam tape. I finished the card with red gems.

Kayaking Birthday

Hello crafty friends, I have a fun water sport card to share today.

I started with a panel of patterned paper and layered that with black cardstock. I added a second panel of coordinating cardstock, also layered with black cardstock. I followed the same steps with the strip of patterned paper.



I adhered the kayak and paddle stickers to white cardstock, then fussy cut them out. I added them with foam tape. I added a sentiment strip with foam tape and finished the card with gems.

Happy Birthday

Hello crafty friends, I have a masculine card to share today.

I started with a panel of patterned paper, and cut that in half and flipped on if the half panels to the alternate print. I then layered the panels onto a layer of brown cardstock. I added a thin strip of brown cardstock to the seam.

I then die cut a layer with an intricate rectangle pattern die from brown cardstock. I cut the image panel with the elk and layered that with brown cardstock and foam tape.


I cut a sentiment strip and layered it with foam tape, then finished the card with some black gems.

Birthday Hugs

Hello crafty friends, I spend a little time in the craft room creating. This card has a easy layout.

I layered some patterned paper with some navy cardstock. I die cut the globe/compass from a second patterned page from the paper pad and adhered it with foam tape.


I die cut the needle part of the center from silver cardstock. I layered the sentiment then finished the card with gems and a acrylic butterfly.

Merry Xmas

Hello crafty friends, it has been a hot minute since I last posted. I have a card made with a simple design for Merry Monday.

I pulled out a paper pad from Moda Scrap for the entire card. I started with a piece of solid coloured paper, then created a second panel our of a holiday themed piece of paper.


I added some silver twine before adhering the second panel. I finished the card with a sentiment strip from the same paper pad and layered with foam tape.

Merry Christmas

Hello crafty friends and welcome to a new year. I have a mixed media card to share for Merry Monday.

When I was unpacking the craft room after the renos I found a number of panels that I had made over time and decided to put one to use.

If I remember correctly, for the panel, I started with Distress sprays, I added blue and grey colours. Once that was dry I added white splatter and some snowy texture with an embossing folder. I layered that with silver then black cardstock.


I diecut a heart and used a smaller heart to removed the center. I used an embossing folder to add some texture then layered it with foam tape.

I added some silver twine, and a sentiment strip popped up with foam tape then finished the card with gems.
