Merry Monday #65

Good morning, can you believe it is June already. Are you ready for a brand new Merry Monday challenge, Lesley has created a fabulous sketch for us.

 

I like the layers of this card without adding too much bulk, it cost me a small fortune last year to maiI out my Christmas cards :). I  found this felt snowflake in my supplies and could not resist adding it to my card and then I finished with some pearls.

Merry Monday #64

Goodmorning, it is time for a brand new Merry Monday challenge. Are you ready to try out this wonderful sketch that Lesley has created. 

 

 

 

Isn't this little guy cute, I just has to flip the sketch a little so I could create a little scene.  I stamped and fussy cut the present and little bird. I then coloured them with my watercolour pencils. I finished by added the sentiment and some sparkle with a glitter pen.

Merry Monday #63

Happy Victoria day weekend, we have a brand new Merry Monday Challenge this morning. Take a look at this great sketch Lesley has created.

 

 

Isn't this paper elegant, I love how the card turned out. I used my Cricut to try to cut a snowflake to match the swirls on the DP but I could not manage it so I added pearls that match the colour instead.

Graduation Time

Happy Friday and Victoria Day long weekend to boot. It is that time of year again when young men and women are graduating high school so I found myself in need of a Grad card.  I chose to make a simple style masculine card.

I tried to make the Grad cap with punches but it did not work out as expected, my sister Barb came to the rescue with a fantastic .SVG cut that I used with my SCAL software and Cricut.

I made the tassle with some grey embossing floss and added a snazzy little brad. I finished with a sentiment.

Tuesday Morning Sketches # 198

I have been a little absent from craft area as of late, I could call it a slump or being a little lazy but when the creativity does not flow then I find I just need to take a little break. This week though I have spend some fantastic time playing with my supplies.
 

I jumped right in with the current Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge. I did not manage to add any flowers on my card, I did not think the young man this card is for would appreciate it but I do like the sketch Jessi created.

 



I started with adding some texture to the base layer of the card, I then added lots of layers. I stamped the boots then fussy cut them out and I used my Slice for the star and inked the edges. I finished with some tiny pearls to accent the boots.

Die Cut Window

Happy Wednesday everyone, I have a simple card to post today.  I wanted to try using a die cut to create a window. See the technique video below, Barb and Judy are joining me for this challenge to :).

I used a Lorelai Leaf die cut to create my window then backed it with some designer paper. I had some GStudio stamps within reaching distance so I had a small little sentiment. I finished with some twine and a gem.

Merry Monday #62

I had a wonderful weekend and an even better Mother's Day, how about you? It is time for a new Merry Monday Challenge. Lesley has a fabulous sketch for us.

 

 

 

I pulled out my Memory Box die cuts and created this pretty ornament, I heat embossed my sentiment then finished with some silver circle dots.

Merry Monday # 61

We had a stunning weekend here in Victoria and the beautiful weather is going to continue right through the week.

 

 

 

We have a new Merry Monday for you today, I don't seem to have any troubles making Christmas cards when the sun is shining. This is the sketch Lesley has created for us.

 

 

I started with heat embossing the sentiment and snowflakes in black, I then masked them before stamping the text background. I cut out three layers of the snowflake with my Cricut and popped up the center layer. I finished with a swirled embellishment and silver pearls.

New Beginnings

Happy National Scrapbooking Day :), I don't scrapbook but I could not pass up a few minutes in my craft area to make a CAS card to celebrate anyway.

This is a quick card for a family who is early in a pregnancy, I though this sentiment was cute.

I used square and corner punches for the shapes and heat embossed the sentiment.

I apologize for the on the fly photo but I wanted some morning light.

Motorbike Birthday

Happy Wednesday and Happy Birthday to my sweetie Mike.

I sent out another family challenge to Barb and Judy and they have once again agreed to joining in the fun. This time around the technique challenge is Joseph's Coat, see the video below.

I chose to make Mike’s birthday card using this technique. I created the background using different shades of grey and even added in some Frost and Pewter shimmer spritz. I then heat embossed with motorbikes stamps and clear embossing powder, I must admit I had no idea where I was stamping :) as I could not see the versamark once it was stamped but to my amazement I only overlapped in one small area. I then used Memento black ink to colour in the background, I like how it turned out although it is hard to see the background patterned behind the bike details.
 

 

For the center panel I heat embossed the motorbike with clear embossing powder and again inked the panel with black. I also added a little texture with an embossing folder.

The white of the twine was a little too bright so I ran blender tool with black ink over it a few times to ‘dirty’ it up a little. I used a small ribbon guide with the twine then finished with the sentiment.
