With all my Heart

I did a quick visit to Michael's last night, 10 mins of power shopping . The trip was not for me but I found a few things anyway :).

As luck would have it a few of those things were Valentine’s related, and there is nothing like playing with new supplies.

I die cut the center panel and heat embossed the sentiment and popped it up with foam tape. I used the outline of the piece left behind by the die cut for a frame. I finished with some embosslet hearts that are also popped up.

Supplies: White and black card stock, Designer Paper – My Mind’s Eye, Heidi Swapp – With all my Heart, Sizzix – Heart Embosslets, Simon Says – Stitched rectangle.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #143

Ackk the month of January is running away from me, I have not been able to do nearly as much card making as I would like. Thank goodness for my DT responsibilities :).

There is new challenge for you today over at Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge. It’s Lori's Challenge this week - Create a Christmas card with a music them or carolers.

This week my card was created using another vintage image, I love these little carolers.  I layered the image and offset it, I have the sentiment popped up with foam tape and I finished with some sequins.

I added larger red sequins at first, but then decided I did not like it the next day. I would have been able to not use them but the little black ones are hiding glue spots.

Supplies: White card stock, Designer Paper-Echo Park, Cornish Heritage Farms - Vintage Christmas, Pinterest image.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #284

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday, we have a new Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge for you today. Jessi is picking one of her past favorite sketches this week, and our sponsor is Doodle Pantry.

I started by turning the sketch, I have been so excited to use these cute little ants that I just HAD too. I love that they are pre-coloured (my colouring skills are questionable J). I found some simple papers that I think worked perfect to showcase the image.

I used a punch for under the image, I added some texture with an embossing folder to the flag and the ants and sentiment is popped up with foam tape.

Supplies: White and black card stock, Designer Paper – Teresa Collins, Doodle Pantry – Balloon Ants, misc die cuts and punches, embossing folder, sequins.

The design team has created some wonderful samples, stop by the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to take a look.

The Challenge #23

This is my second post this morning, please scroll down for my Merry Monday post.

I am so excited that I am a Guest Designer for The Challenge #23.

I have to admit I struggled initially fitting all these colours into what I see as a CAS sketch. This was my third attempt but I have to admit I love how it turned out.

I used my Memento Teardrop Inks on glossy paper, I added each colour then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder so they would not smudge and also to add texture. I then used the Peek a Boo dots from MTF for an overlay. I heat embossed the sentiment then used a bit of scrap to die cut the butterfly.

Supplies: White card stock, Inspired by Stamping –Heartfelt Gratitude,  MTF – Peek a boo dots.

Check out all the fabulous inspiration that the Design Team has for this challenge, don’t forget to leave comments and join in the fun and play along.

With Sympathy

It was with so many sad hearts that Saanich Police lost one of their own this week after a battle with cancer. There have been many touching tributes,  see one of them HERE.

I wanted to try a recessed window for this CAS card. I stamped thw tree in black then used a stitched die cut for the window. With the window still seated in the die cut frame I stamped the script in light gray. I then added the sentiment. I finished with popping up the front panel with foam tape.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Tree Stamp – Unknown, BoBunny- Sentiment Stamp, Simon Says die cut.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #282

I always love moving past Monday’s I am not sure why they have such a bad rap but I do not enjoy the first day of the work week, so here we are at Tuesday and I am glad to report I survived yesterday :).

We have a new Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge for you today. For the first challenge of 2015 we are looking back at some if the past sketches that were favorites for the Design Team and this week is Debbie’s choice. Our sponsor for this challenge is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

I changed the sketch just a little, only because I just could not seem to get that circle element to look right. So I cut off the corner of the scrap that I had used for the circle die cut and just glued it on the card, then I offset the brown circle behind the focal image. I stamped the sentiment onto the DP and finished with some wood grain sequins.

Supplies: White and brown card stock, Designer Paper – Teresa Collins,  Sweet 'n Sassy-Cocoa's Chocolates, Technique Tuesday-Say it Happy, wood grain sequins.

The design team has created some fabulous sample, be sure to stop by the Tuesday MorningSketches blog to take a look.
