Happy Anniversary

Today my husband and I celebrate our 25th anniversary. We were headed for an Alaskan excursion but COVID hijacked those plans for the foreseeable future.

My husband, sneaky bugger gifted me with a beautiful ring as well.

I of course waited for the final countdown to get a card made. Boy oh Boy did I struggle with a concept for this one. There were a few starts with quick ends and a few areas of do-over but I am happy with how it all turned out.

I remember when I first started with cards a long long time ago, I made a number of slimline cards, they were not called that then though. I think I still have one actually that I made in a class. Seeing all the samples on social media is what got me headed in the right. 

I don't have any stitched die cuts for the slimline size of cards but I made do with an edge die to create the stitched edges on black cardstock. 

I cut a piece of grey cardstock and added some font with a background stamp. I added an overlaid of some vellum. I die cut the hearts, two have script and patterns heat embossed in silver and the smallest is die cut from glitter cardstock and each heart is popped up with foam tape.

The sentiment is heat embossed in white on black cardstock and popped up with foam tape as well. I finished with some silver gems. I adhered the panel on to a white card base.

Dashing through the snow

Some more easy layers for this card, I just liked the moose on the designer paper and wanted to showcase it.

I cut the brown cardstock panels using a trimmer... I know... I did not use my stitched rectangles gasp :). I then cut some designer paper panels to fit onto the browns card stock just slightly smaller. I added a thin strip under the top panel then added some foam tape to pop that top panel up.

I stamped the sentiment, layered it then popped it up with foam tape. I finished with some brown Nuvo drops.

Most Wonderful

Good Morning, I have a vintage style card for my post this morning. I stayed with simple layers and let this fabulous designer paper do all the work.

I used my stitched rectangles to create two panels, then I cut some patterned paper to fit inside the stitching. The top panel has a layer of foam tape to pop it up.

I stamped the sentiment and layered that with some brown cardstock and foam tape before adhering the panel to a cream card base. I finished my card with some brown Nuvo drops.

Time for some Hot Cocoa

Layers lovely layers for today card, I love this paper pad, yes I know I say that a lot but I do. This one is close to being just scraps but I found enough panels and bits to put together a card.

I used my stitched die cuts to die cut panels from the patterned paper then added a layer of black cardstock to each. There was one little sentiment panel left and I layered them with some black cardstock then did the same with the small panel of red patterned paper which is also popped up with foam tape. I finished with some sparkle gray smoky gems.

Wonderland

I did not have a plan when I started this card, I pulled out a paper pad and just started to put something together. I had a couple of false starts but kept going. I need up using stitched rectangles to die cut two panels. I added some hills with trees to the top panel then added some die-cut mittens. I finished with a simple sentiment.

Little Christmas

I have a clean and simple card for this evening's post.

I used my stitched rectangles to die cut a panel for green cardstock and one from kraft. I stamped the image from My Favorite Things on the kraft panel then added some clear embossing powder and some gold for the star.

I added some gold half pearls then used some foam tape to adhere the top panel.

Holly Jolly

Happy 4th of July for anyone visiting my blog from the US.

I have another simple layout card for today's post. I pulled out one of my favourite KaiserCraft paper pads and started to put together some scraps.

I used simple panels with no additional cardstock. I added some foam tape to the top panel and the sentiment panel. The sentiment panel is part of the paper pad and I finished with some moonlight sequins.

Merry & Bright

I love this paper pack from The Paper Boutique, the panels make for such simple and beautiful cards. 

I used a stitched square die-cut to cut out the panel, I added a layer of black cardstock in behind as well as some foam tape to pop the panel up. I finished with some clear dew drops.

Merry Everything

Sometimes I love clean and simple cards and how quickly they can come together. I used my stitched rectangles to die cut a scenic panel from Designer Paper I added a layer of dark grey cardstock in behind.

I heat embossed the sentiment in silver on grey cardstock and popped it up with foam tape. I added three small half peals.

All is Calm

Good Morning and Happy Canada Day to my Canadian visitors. My post today kicks off a Chrismas in July themed endeavour. I am going to try to get a Holiday card created every day for the month of July.

This card started as something much more simple but then the paper was chosen, then the embossing folder and it all just came together from there.

I started with the bottom panel, this is one of my favourite paper pads and it makes me sad that I am down to bits and pieces. I did have enough for the panel though and added a layer of dark brown cardstock.

I worked on the larger panel next, I wanted the Through the woods sentiment, but then the card did not look right so I embossed a layer of kraft cardstock with a wood grain embossing folder and tucked in underneath. I added layers of brown cardstock to each of those as well.  

The buck head was next, I embossed that as well and added some foam tape in behind. The sentiment is stamped in brown on kraft cardstock then popped up with foam tape. I finished by tucking some woodgrain sequins.
