Merry Monday #87

Happy Monday, it is time for a new Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge, and Lesley's has a fun image for inspiration today.

I am happy to admit that all my Christmas cards are done, ahh the perks of challenge that has you making holiday cards throughout the year.

I love this card, the mittens are so cute and I smiled the whole time I was putting it all together. I grew up in a small town in BC, we had great winters that had more outdoor activities than indoor. I guess that is because we had 2 TV channels and a good snow usually knocked out the connection high in the mountains and it could be a good stretch before it was repaired.

An average weekend day I would go through a number of gloves
and mitten changes and my boots and snowpants would be soaked at the end of a day of play and I would always have those cold chapped cheeks. Anyhow...

I created the background layers and then heat embossed the mittens and fussy cut them out, I added some cream twine and popped them up with foam tape. I heat embossed both the buttons and sentiment too.

Supplies: Kraft and brown cardstock, Designer Paper -Kiaser Craft , Verve - Winter Mittens, circle punch, twine.

Stop by Lesley's blog  and see what the Design Team has created and play along with us.

Cheers,
Nina

  9. Hi Nina. Sweet card! ... and sweet memories. I think there used to be a lot more snow in southern B.C. years ago when I was young ... at least I remember December (and Christmas) as always having snow. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. It's been a long time since we've had a white Christmas --- I would LOVE that!

Your card is adorable. I love the sweet pairs of mittens and how you've looped the twine. Beautiful DP for the mittens and the striped background. Loll xx

  11. You made a great card to tell the story of all the mitten changes you made in a day of play, Nina! They are adorable and you put a lot of hard work into making them! (You reminded me of my days playing in the snow as a kid!) Hugs, Darnell
