Merry Christmas

Good Morning and Merry Monday, I am using the card kit from Photoplay for my card today. I love the layers that this card has.

I started with the background panel, I then added the square panel. I cut and added the plaid flag then did the same with the two others, adhering them with some foam tape.

I added the twine, poinsettia and sentiment to finish.

Supplies: White cardstock, Photoplay Christmas Cheer Card Kit.

Bright Smiles

I did not make it to post my card for this past week's Tuesday Morning Sketches, this past weekend seemed to just melt away.

I pulled out a paper pack that I have had for a number of years to see what I could put together without using stamps.

I cut a piece of double-sided patterned paper and cut the bottom of the panel to turn the bottom side around. I used a piece of border stick to break up the two panels. I added some foam tape to two feather stickers to pop them up then added another sticker for the sentiment.

I finished the card with some Nuvo drops.

You are so much more

I attended an online card class last night.. well sort of. When you order a card class from Calgary you should really pay attention to the class start time. In my defence I was not the only one, the rest of the class did not show and when I logged on the instructor was getting ready to pack it in.

The instructor ended up doing a Facebook live of the class just after but that did not work as expected either with some technical difficulties getting in the way.

I also had some problems with my card kit, it did not seem to travel well so I ended up doing my best with the supplies but in truth, my cards look nothing like the class. I am chalking this one up to it was not meant to be.

I used layers of turquoise and navy cardstock panels and adhered them to my card base. I added some texture to the navy layer with an embossing folder.

The flower image is watercoloured and finished with a touch of Wink of Stella. The sentiments were pre-cut but I added layers of cardstock in behind the sentiment panel. I popped the You sentiment piece up with foam tape.

Supplies: White, navy and turquoise cardstock, MTF - All About you and Harmonious Hibiscus Background.

Congratulations

It took me forever to come up with an idea for this card, but once inspiration hit I loved how it turned out. The theme for the card is for a promotion.

I used my Silhouette to cut out the chevrons and crown. I cut a layer of black cardstock and a smaller navy one. I put the navy panel thorough my Big shot with a chevron embossing folder.

I created a long strip with black cardstock and slightly lighter navy cardstock. The thought behind this was to use patrol pants as my inspiration, they are blue in colour with a light blue strip down the side. I heat embossed the sentiments in white on black cardstock then added some foam tape in behind.

Even with the sentiment and rank elements, the panel looked to be missing something. I pulled out a stamp set with different grunge stamps and added a stamped image to both ends of the panel. It seemed to pull everything together. I finished the card with some black Nuvo Drops.

Supplies: White, black and navy cardstock, Simon Says Stamp - Amazing, Clearly Besotted - Miniature Type, Stampin' Up - Gorgeous Grunge, embossing folder, Nuvo Drops.

Keeping Christmas - August 2020

Good Morning all and welcome to the August edition of Keeping Christmas Blog Hop.

I have seen this technique done a few times and was inspired by one posted for Concord & 9th. I used strips of red, hunter green and silver glitter cardstock. I lined them all up using the grid on my glass mat.

I used the same cardstock to created Christmas flower die cuts. I stamped the sentiment then popped up the panel with some foam tape. I finished by adding some red gems to the flowers.

This card would be so easy to mass-produce.

Supplies: White, red, green cardstock, Silver glitter paper, Simon Days Stamp - Inside Christmas Greetings, Nellie Snellen - Christmas Flowers, gems.

Take a look at the inspiration with the other designers in the Blog Hop.

Wishing you Joy

Merry Monday, I have a card that I made from a card kit for today's post. When I was on vacation and shopping for some crafty goodness I can across a Photo Play cardkit... I did not even know those were a thing.

Photoplay is one of my favourite vendors so I took a chance, admittedly I did not follow the directions I just eyeballed the samples but overall it was pretty easy and I like the results.

Peace Joy Love

Merry Monday, I have an easy panel card for today's post. I fell in love with the Carta Bella Farmhouse Christmas papers, so much so that I brought some of the 12x12 and the 6x6 pad.

I could not resist these fabulous panels. I added some coordinating designer paper in behind the panel, then popped the panel up with foam tape. I fussy cut one of the stockings from another piece of patterned paper and popped it up on top of the panel. I finished with some black gems.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper - Carta Bella, gems.

I am pretty excited to share that I reached the goal of 100K. I am not stopping there though and will continue to track my walking and hiking till September 20th.

I am more than excited to share that I also reached the fundraising goal of $500 as well; with that said, it is such a great cause so if you would consider donating I have included the link below. #TrailblazeCA.
