Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #274

I am back - sorry I missed last week, the flu got me down and it took me a little time to get back up to normal. 

We have a new Merry Monday Christmas card challenge, I am your hostess this week and my challenge is to Create a Christmas card with snow.

I think this challenge leaves it pretty wide open for options. I chose to go with snowflakes and mini-scenes that are included on the designer paper I used. I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum then finished with some sequins.

Supplies: Kraft and navy cardstock, Vellum,  Designer Paper - Carta Bella, Papertrey Ink - Two Feet Deep , sequins.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #435

A really quick post this evening, I am playing along with Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I turned the sketch and switched up the elements a bit, I will admit to not being in love with my results. However, I was too tired to start over... do over another time ;).

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #272

We have a new Merry Monday Christmas card challenge, Leanne is our hostess and her challenge is to Create a Christmas card with glasses.

I used lots of layers for my card. I still had the platnium emossing powder on my desk so I used that for my sentimnent. I also popped the panel up with foam tape. I finished with some gray half pearls

Spiral Birthday

I am trying to be more pro-active about making cards this year... at least for as long as that lasts. I did not craft nearly enough last year.

I have a few paper pads I have not dabbled with yet so I pull this cute one out to make an easy card. I used stitched die cuts for the frame and used simple layers.

I stamped the sentiment and popped it up with foam tape, added the flower then sprinkled some gems about. Ha, that last part is a fable, the gems have a sticky back and I had them sticking everywhere and in none of the places, I actually wanted.

Supplies: White and gray cardstock, Designer Paper-Echo Park, Penny Black - Sprinkles and Smiles, SSS - Spiral flower, gems.

Dreams take flight

A friend has this stunning wrapping paper she wanted to use and asked if I could make a card to match. The paper was black and white and she had added some ribbon and a small red butterfly as a decoration.

From my stash I found this pretty collage stamp, I used some watercolours to add a little bit of red to the butterfly body then covered it in Wink of Stella for sparkle.

She was looking for a black and white card but I could not resist adding a very thin layer in the frame to highlight the colour from the butterfly.

I heat embossed part of the sentiment in black on vellum then added the additional Happy Birthday heat embossed in white on a piece of black cardstock. I finished with gems.

The collage panel is popped up with foam tape to add dimension.

Snowflake Kisses

A super quick post this evening, this is a card I made for my husband for Christmas. I put it together with a mix of scraps I had tucked away. I love all they all came together for this fun card.

I am not sure which paper pad this is from but there was not much left. I used brown cardstock to back all the kraft and added some inky edges. The centre panel is popped up with foam tape. I finished with the cute little heart.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #271

We are starting the year off right with a brand new Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge.

Linda is our hostess for the first challenge of 2018 and her challenge is to Create a Christmas card with heat or dry embossing.

I got the design for my card from a tag I made this Christmas. I found two older embossing powders in my drawer and wanted to see if they would still work. They did, because of their age, I did not mind mixing them up a little to get the two-toned effect.

I stamped the snowflakes and heat embossed them, then with the leftover embossing powder I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on vellum. I finished by adding spatter from my Gansai Tambo Starry colours pallet. The panel black is popped up with foam tape.

Supplies: White and Black cardstock, vellum, Verve - Glad Tidings, Clearly Besotted - Brushed Greetings, platinum and antique gold embossing powders.

Birthday Soaring

Good Morning, I am a little in awe that 2018 is just around the corner and it seems another year has melted right away.

I have another quick post.. I guess they all are ;).  I used lots of layers for the panels that were die cut with stitched rectangles.

I heat embossed the sentimnet then added a couple of brads.

Snowflake kisses

Merry Christmas.

I have a quick card to post, I was so late to get cards made for my husband and son... like down to the wire. I was frustrated beyond belief because the creative juices had gotten up and ran as fast as they could out the door.

I make Christmas cards through the year, how is it that I could miss these two you ask. Don't know, I always wait. I made it through and I am happy with both.

This is the one I made for my son, he is artsy so I know he would appreciate the ink blending and flecks of white.

I heat embossed the string of lights or whatever they are as well as the snowman, I then masked off the snowman so I could ink blend the background which is watercolour paper.

I used colour pencils for the details then used so watered down white pigment ink for the flecks of falling snow. I finished which the simply stamped sentiment popped up with foam tape.

Supplies: Blue and white cardstock, watercolour paper, Penny Black - Festive Snippets and Wonderful & Jolly.

Birthday - garage grunge style

I love how this grunge style paper works well together for this masculine birthday card.

I used a base layer of black then added different patterns with each additional layer. I heat embossed the sentiment then added button like brads to finish.
