Let travel along the positivity path again, shall we? This card is a perfect example of clean and simple.

I die cut the panel with stitched die cuts, then added a layer of black cardstock to add a frame. The designer paper looked so peaceful to me, and the sentiments seemed to fit the scene perfectly.

I stamped the top sentiment directly on the panel, the bottom sentiment is stamped on a scrap of paper then flagged and popped up with foam tape.

Being Merry on a Monday

Merry Monday ;)... to soon for a new round of holiday cards?  I let the Merry on a Monday's fade away and I paid for it this past holiday season. I was scrambling to make cards to send out for the holidays, and I was not impressed with myself. So for as long as I can, I am going to keep up with a holiday card on Mondays. Let's see how I do!

I have more Christmas, holiday and winter papers to last me for years, I still get pulled in by the current season's selections thought.

I do love the clean and simple layouts, this card is no different. My stitched die cuts are always on my desk so I they were an easy choice to use when I started this card, each layer was cut with the de cut then layered with some black cardstock. I added foam tape to the smaller panel with designer paper and the sentiment panel. I finished with some black gems.

Happiness

I have a positivity card for today's post. My love of 6x6 paper pads has not diminished and my stash of them has only grown. 

The disappointing part about that is as new ones are released, older ones get hidden away or moved to the bottom of the pile. I have started to grab older pads and challenging myself to put a card together with them. The upside of this is the reminder of why I purchased the paper pad in the first place.

Until recently I have had this thought in my mind that all those little sentiment panels in the backs of some of the paper pads are just wasted pages for me, I would choose to add my own sentiment when using the patterned papers. That my crafty friends is where I have been short-sighted, not all sentiments work for me but I have found some that are fabulous.

This card is so simple in the layout but I wanted the sentiment to shine. I added a layer of black to each panel, then a layer of foam tape to the sentiment panel. I finished with some black gems.

Perhaps it was the moment and the mood but this sentiment was a little bit of an aha moment for me, I was in the middle of holiday bustle when it was created. I was wrist-deep in craft supplies, which is usually my happy place and the sentiment made me think for a second on its meaning and it was so true.

Time Spent

Some of the new paper pads make it super easy to put together a card and I love the sentiment panels. In this case, this card has no stamping and I used panels created from the paper pad.

Each panel had a layer of dark gray cardstock, the top sentiment panel is popped up with foam tape. I finished with some sequins.

Big Hello

How is this for a clean and simple card? I used my stitched rectangles to due cut a panel of designer paper, then added a layer of black cardstock. The sentiment is stamped and layers as well, I finished crystal gems.

The gorgeous paper does all the work and the simple sentiment is versatile and can be used for many situations.

Do the things

I love this sentiment, I have a t-shirt with the same sentiment on it. I, luckily don't require coffee to kick off my day, water is my go too but I love that warm cup of comfort either tea or coffee to put me in a happy place.

When I saw these papers I knew they would need to be purchased. They are perfect on their own with a simple sentiment, but I added a little coffee cup as an embellishment.


I added used my stitched die cuts for the panels, a large one for the DP panel then a small square one for the sentiment. The sentiment is popped up with foam tape as is the coffee cup which I paper pieced together and added coffee bean to the sleeve.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to All! I certainly hope that 2020 is a little more crafty for me than it was in 2019, although I did create more than my blog posts indicated I just did not get around to posting a few of my cards - I only 43 times last year.


I have a few posts lined up for January so I will be off to a good start. I had a nice number of cards that I did not get around to posting before the end of December last year. I love that like last year was not yesterday :).


The first up is a birthday card, why not right. Happy Birthday to a brand new year and a new decade that is full of potential.

This card has a simple layout, designed to highlight the pretty papers and basic sentiment. The photo does not do the paper justice with the pretty flowers that are cheerful and bright. I added a background matt of black cardstock and some twine to add extra interest to separate the panels. The sentiment is popped up with foam tape and I finished the card with some clear crystal gems.

Keeping Christmas - November 2019

Welcome back for the November edition of the Keeping Christmas Series.

                  

December is only a week away, this year has flown by. I still have a few cards left to make for the holiday and this design was perfect for making multiples.

I added black cardstock to each layer, the sentiment and second layer are both popped up with foam tape. I finished with some gems. I added interest by using stitched rectangles.

Keeping Christmas - October 2019

Welcome back for the October edition of the Keeping Christmas Series.

I am officially way behind in making my holiday cards. My craft time definitely feels like a luxury as of late so I have been trying to make the most of it, this means creating a design that I can duplicate easily.                    

















The final touch was some black gems.

For this card, I had a small little assembly line in the works. I made use of my much loved stitched rectangles and layer all the panels. Each with a layer of black cardstock. I popped center panel and the sentiment up with foam tape.

Got This

I think this paper is so fun, I have had it in my stash forever - with this forever I mean probably 8-10 years. Back when my son was still in school. I found it in one of my bins and was inspired to put something together.

I used a pretty simple layout so that the design was no hidden. I love the adorable little paperclips on the base layer, I added some cardstock to each layer for interest. I popped up the top panel with some foam tape. The sentiment is heat embossed in white on black. 

I finished with some black half pearls.

Do you ever get one of those days where you just wake up feeling crafty, today is one of those days for me. I was in my stash looking for the designer paper manufacturer and just about every piece of paper I looked at I wanted to create a card.. darn day job. I am hoping the creative mindset hold on till this evening.
