Snowflake kisses

Merry Christmas.
I have a quick card to post, I was so late to get cards made for my husband and son... like down to the wire. I was frustrated beyond belief because the creative juices had gotten up and ran as fast as they could out the door.

I make Christmas cards through the year, how is it that I could miss these two you ask. Don't know, I always wait. I made it through and I am happy with both.

This is the one I made for my son, he is artsy so I know he would appreciate the ink blending and flecks of white.

I heat embossed the string of lights or whatever they are as well as the snowman, I then masked off the snowman so I could ink blend the background which is watercolour paper.

I used colour pencils for the details then used so watered down white pigment ink for the flecks of falling snow. I finished which the simply stamped sentiment popped up with foam tape.

Supplies: Blue and white cardstock, watercolour paper, Penny Black - Festive Snippets and Wonderful & Jolly.

Cheers all, I hope you have the most amazing of days.

Nina

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #270

We have a new Merry Monday Christmas card challenge,  Kelly is our hostess and her challenge is to Create a Christmas card using diagonal, horizontal, or vertical line.

I went right down the left hand side for this challenge. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment popping it up with foam tape.

I used a die cut for the scissors and the bow, this is a card for my stylist so I had to get them in somewhere.

For the final line item I used DP that is a rich wintery burgundy, that is in the family of red.. yes?

I added a layer of paper underneath and cut it as if it is being peeled back. I finished with some gold Nuvo drops but I find they don't settle the same way the plain black ones do so I must be doing something wrong.

Supplies: Kraft and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Teresa Collins, misc die cuts and Nuvo drops.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #267

We have a new Merry Monday Christmas card challenge for you this morning. Colleen is our hostess and her challenge is to Create a Christmas card in green, blue, white/silver/vellum.

The first thing I did was look through my stash of papers for some blue and green patterns. I like the delicate little ornaments on the page I used.

I then created the large flag out of vellum and heat embossed the sentiment in silver. I found that with the pattern in behind the works did not show up very well so I put in a flag of white in behind. I used some eyelets for the ribbon.

I added some rustic silver edges to a layer of white cardstock then finished with some dots.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper -Carta Bella , Penny Black- Yuletide Wishes, ribbon, dots.

Simple Sweet Christmas Inspiration Hop

http://alwaysplayingwithpaper.blogspot.ca/
Good Morning and welcome. Lesley has put together fun and inspirational blog hop for last-minute simple yet sweet Christmas cards or tags.

You are here :)

Rachel Bergfeld

My card is simple and relatively quick to reproduce.

Card Recipe - I formed a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card from cardstock. I used Simon Says Stitched rectangles to create a layer of brown cardstock and the second layer of white cardstock. I used an embossing folder to add snowy texture to the white cardstock layer.

I then die cut the trees and added some white pigment ink and sprinkled with some snowy glitter. I heat embossed the sentiment and popped it up with foam tape.

I finished the card with a small red cardinal. The die cuts make this a quick and simple card that is easy to put together multiple cards at once.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Simon Says - Stitched rectangles, Penny Black – In the Winter, Impression Obsession – Cardinal, Hero Arts – Jolly Holiday Wishes, embossing folder and Stampendous – Crystal Snow.
