Amazing Birthday

I have a fun fold card for this post, with a pocket for a gift card. I love how it worked well with these patterned papers. I picked the paper up at Hobby Lobby many moons ago and it had been perfect for masculine cards.

I covered all the panels with multiple patterns from a paper pad, for the front I also added a die-cut piece made from a circle loop die. I stamped the sentiment, layered it then popped it up with foam tape. I finished that panel with some black half pearls. It's not the best picture but you can see the details.

For the left inside panel, I added candles on top of the patterned paper, the flames are die cut from coordinating papers, the candlesticks from black cardstock.

I added a small loop to the middle inside panel and a cardholder on the inside right.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - The Paper Studio, Simon Says Stamp - Circle Loops, MTF - Birthday Candles, pearls.

Happy Birthday

I pulled out the glitter for today's card. I managed to keep the glitter spread down to a minimum too. I started by putting some double-sided tape on some cardstock then using that to adhere the glitter. I used some pink and purple to try to create an ombre effect.

I then used the glitter cardstock to die cut the balloons then added some twine to the back and set them aside to dry the glue before added some foam tape to the back.

I die-cut a panel of cardstock then added a layer of black cardstock and then added the balloons. I heat embossed the sentiment then popped it up with foam tape. I finished the card with some gems.

Merry Monday, I have a quick holiday card for my post this evening.

I used simple layers for this design, I cut out a panel of plaid patterned paper then added a layer of black cardstock in behind. I cut a second smaller panel to run down the middle of the first panel then heat embossed the sentiment, layered with cardstock and foam tape.

I tucked a die-cut snowflake in behind the sentiment then finished the card with some gems.

Keeping Christmas Blog Hop - October 2020

Good Morning all and welcome to Octobers' edition of the Keeping Christmas Blog Hop.

I am using a simple layout and easy design for my card for this month's Keeping Christmas. I die-cut a section of a 12x12 patterned paper to get my cardinal scene using a stitched rectangle. I used a layer of black cardstock in behind for a small frame.

I added some small rock glitter to some of the greenery then finished the card with some gems.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper-Simple Stories, Simon Says Stamp - Stitched rectangle, glitter, gems.

All you need is love

I am playing along with Tuesday Morning Sketches for today's post, I am using a blend of digital papers and stamps.

I used my stitched rectangles to die cut a couple of panels from brown cardstock, For the bottom panel I cut a piece of patterned paper to fit into the stitching and for the second panel, I cut a piece of kraft cardstock and stamped coffee beans all over it.

I stamped the coffee cup onto some patterned paper then die cut it out. I stamped some kraft cardstock for the sleeve then popped it up with foam tape. I then stamped and fussy cut the lid then added some glossy accents.

I added some twine to the bottom panel and some foam tape to the top panel then adhered them all together. I heat embossed the sentiment and add it and the coffee cup with some foam tape. I finished with some gems on the edges of the twine.

Supplies: Kraft, brown and white cardstock, Digital Papers - FrouFrou Craft, Honey Bee -Treat Yourself, Technique Tuesday - Perk Up, twine, gems.

Thanks a ton

I have a quick card for this post with a little jungle pun. I was looking for 12x12 papers for building a folio and end up overbuying.. really over buying. I love these Graphic 45 papers and I could not resist them.

I cut out one of the panels from a page, I added some black cardstock in behind as well as some foam tape for dimension then I cut a card base to fit the panel. I found some puny sentiments in a My Favorite Things stamps set and I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock.

I am debating on adding gems, I like the layers the design adds.

Supplies: White adn black cardstock, Designer Paper - Graphics 45, My favorite Things - Sweet Safari.

Stay crafty,

Nina

Magic of the Season

Good Morning and Merry Monday. I love the vintage look of this patterned paper. I could not choose which one to use for I used four out of the paper pack. I started with a dark green cardstock die cut with a stitched rectangle then cut panels from the designer paper.

I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of coordinating cardstock and added some foam tape in behind. I added some die cut greenery in behind the sentiment then finished with some enamel dots.

Supplies: White and green cardstock, Designer Paper - Simple Stories, Simon Says Stamp Inside Christmas Greeting, Echo Park - enamel dots.

Musical Birthday

A quick card for this evening's post. I picked up this music-themed paper a couple of weeks ago and it is perfect for an upcoming birthday.

I used a simple layout as I think the paper speaks for itself. I cut out the bottom panel and added a layer of black cardstock. I did the same with the second layer but also added a layer of foam tape.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black and then popped it up with foam tape. I finished the card with some Nuvo drops.

Supplies: Cream and black cardstock, Designer Paper-Graphic 45, Papertrey Ink- Birthday Bash, Nuvo Drops.

Cheers,

Birthday Wishes

I liked the sketch from earlier today so I did a feminine version of the card as well.

I used the same steps and I started with a larger frame die and cut out a layer in black cardstock, the die cuts all have an embossing edge so I ran it through my die cut machine again to get the embossing sharper.  I then used the next size of die to cut a panel of patterned paper that fits inside the frame of the larger one.

I die-cut the third panel and the circle at the same time and added some foam tape to the panel and tucked the circle inside. I die cut the flower then added some foam tape to pop it up a little. I stamped the sentiment and I finished the card with some gems.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Honey Bee, Sizzix - Happy Fall Framelit, Impression Obsession- Abstract Flowers, Clearly Besotted - Mini Messages, gems.

Brown Buck Birthday

It is a perfect day to spend a little time in my craft room. I needed a masculine birthday card so that is what I tackled first. As I was digging through my stash of die cuts for something I ran across a packet of Framelits from Sizzix, the Happy Fall one to be precise.

I liked the way the die cuts were lined up in the packaging and thought that is a great sketch to follow.

I started with a larger frame die and cut out a layer of brown cardstock, the die cuts all have an embossing edge so I ran that through my die cut machine again to get the embossing to deepen.  I then used the next size to die cut a panel of patterned paper that fits inside of the larger one.

I then die-cut the third panel and the circle at the same time and added some foam tape to the panel and tucked the circle inside. I die cut the buck head and added some wood grain embossing to it then added some foam tape to pop it up. I stamped the sentiment and I finished the card with some Nuvo drops.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Honey Bee, Sizzix - Happy Fall Framelit, American Crafts  - Open Book die-cut, Clearly Besotted - Mini Messages, Nuvo Drops.

Happy Saturday,

It's time for coffee

I love some of the new products that Honey Bee just released. My mini haul arrived the other day and I finally got a little time to put something together using them.

I used the Coffee die-cut both the word and shadow for part of the sentiment. I heat embossed the rest of the sentiment in white on brown. I put that aside and used one of the pages from a new paper pad. This card was made using both sides of one sheet.

I sized the panel so it was just slightly smaller than the card front then sliced a piece from the side and flipped it around. I added a thin slice of brown paper to cover the seam between the two panels.

I added some foam tape to the coffee sentiment and finished with some Freshly brewed sequins.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Honeybee - Coffee stamp set and die, Freshly brewed paper pad and sequin mix.

Keep crafty,
Nina

Holiday Season

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian visitors. I have a quick post today after taking a week off to visit with my sister.

It's Monday and that means I have a Merry Monday card to share.

I found this lovely Recollections paper on a visit to Michaels and it made for an easy card with a simple layout.

The pattern with the poinsettia's and greenery has a lovely glittery shimmer on the flowers that does not show up in the photos. I added a coordinating striped paper down the left side than added a thin strip of cardstock to break up the panels.

I layered the sentiment with some of the striped paper from the side panel and popped it up with foam tape.

Supplies: White and red cardstock, Designer Paper-Recollenctpons, Penny Black-Joyful wishes.

Thanks for visiting,
Nina

World Cardmaking Day 2020 - Thank you

Good Morning wild and crazy crafters, I know you pulled out some glitter this week. Too much :)? Alrighty then, how about the excitement for today then.

Ready? you know it is World Cardmaking Day right, a day to celebrate why we are frittering away our hard-earned cash on all those supplies... oh wait is that a different hobby?

Are you planning to get some crafty time in today, I know I will, my sister is visiting and we are going to dig our fingers into some paper and glue and maybe, just maybe - some glitter :).

The card for today's post is a challenge with a crew of crafty individuals - the challenge you ask, follow a sketch and there may be a prize, easy peasy lemon squeezy. This sketch was perfect as I tackled this yesterday, I had a crazy busy week that left me minus even a hint of a crafty spark, I found the sketch easy to follow and it was simple to put something together for the card.

I followed the sketch, and I even used the required measurements and everything, a big win for me because when it comes to crafting I am horrible at following directions or measurements.

Each panel is layered with cardstock and designer paper, I added some silver twine to the base layer and popped the top two panels up with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment and leaves with 4 different gray inks to get an ombre effect. I added a touch of Wink of Stella for a hint of sparkle. I finished my card with some clear gems.

Supplies: White and Gray cardstock, Designer Paper - Stampin' Up! Peony Garden, Stampin' Up! - Sending Sunshine and Thoughtful Banners, twine and gems.

Thank you Crystal for organizing the challenge and providing the sketch.

Happy Crafting,

Nina

Autumn & Nature

Hey Crafty Friends, sorry I ditched you for a few days. This week I tell you, way to busy to be considered sane.

I am posting a card that I made way back at a crafty retreat, I used a simple layout to showcase the pretty autumn designer paper and the wonderful sentiment.

I layered all the panels with dark brown cardstock, the base layer is a nice polka dot patterned. The center panel had some stunning leaves including hints of gold foil. The sentiment panel is layered with multiple cardstock layers. I did not add any additional embellishments as I wanted the gold to draw the eye.

Supplies: White, brown and gold cardstock, Designer Paper-Kaisercraft, Quietfire-Autumn Collection.

Happy Friday!
