Sound the Sirens

Good Morning all - a quick card post this morning to test out the new follow.it feed (https://follow.it), the Feedburner feed has been deleted from my blog. Did I lose you, email followers?

My husband has a new recruit at work so he asked for a card.

I started with a layer of black cardstock, then used stitched rectangles and squares to make some panels from shades of blue. Once they were adhered to the panel I ran the whole panel through Big Shot with an embossing folder.

I die-cut the road and added a layer of yellow cardstock in behind for the lines. The police car is two-toned heat embossed with blue and black.

I stamped the sentiments then layered them. The car and sentiments are also backed with foam tape.

Let's go Anywhere

I have a cute kite card to show this morning, I had a fabulous time crafting with the ladies earlier this week, as always Crystal had us making a fabulous showpiece in her class. This is my take on the project.

I used a new 6x6 paper pad by Echo Park - Let's go Anywhere. I still need to find a way to hold the kite into a closed position but overall this was a fun card to make and I love how it turned out.

I used a top folding card base then added a layer of black cardstock and a layer of patterned paper. The kite is a fantastic fold that pops up.

I used a couple of different patterns for the kite top then used one of the premade sentiment panels for the front, I added a layer of foam tape to pop it up a little. I finished with a kite tail of black crochet thread.

Goodness of Life

It is time for another coffee card :). I seem to make a lot of these, it's funny, I did not start drinking coffee till I was in my mid-thirties, now I love a cup in the morning.

The layout for this card is basic, why not when the paper has personality? I started with a layer of brown cardstock, then added a layer of designer paper. This paper is printed from a digital file. 

The whole panel is popped up with foam tape.

I added some twine then mounted the sentiment which is also layer, with some foam tape. I finished the card with some gems.

Sunflower Wishes

I was playing with some Mod Podge and napkins again, I have this nice little stash of panels just ready to put together cards. This pretty pattern is so bright and cheerful, I love it.

I added a layer of brown cardstock, then added some sparkle with some orange and yellow gems. I stamped the sentiment and added a little foam tape to pop it up.

Birthday Wishes

I can hear the soft potato potato of the motorbike headed up the driveway as I type, Mother nature had blessed my fabulous husband with a perfect morning to take a ride on his Harley for his Birthday.

That is the theme this year, orange and black, I love how this card turned out, my husband loves it. I will attempt to keep the theme going on a cake later today... to be continued....

The photo is a little dark, but I love that all the details are displayed.

I started with a gray cardstock layer then added a layer of black. I used a couple of orange and black Infusions on watercolour paper to get the distressed background. I made sure to leave some grainy and gritty areas.

I was not sure the background stamp would leave a good impression with all the background texture but I was impressed with how well it turned out. I added some paint splatter in black, silver and white to add to the effect.

I embossed some silver cardstock then used a sanding block to distress it and added little Infusions, this gave the two silver panels a rusted chrome look which I put onto the black cardstock layer. 

I used foam tape to secure the top panel. I stamped the sentiment then used a scrap from the distressed panel to rough it up a little and add some colour before I layered it with black then gray cardstock.

I finished the card with some half pearls that were the closest to chrome rivets as I could get.

Get Cozy with some Holiday wishes

Happy Monday followers, and Merry Monday, I have a quick and easy holiday card to share today. 

I grabbed a 12x12 Photoplay paper pack for this one, I used a piece of double-sided designer paper for the bottom layer, it is layered with some dark brown cardstock.

I then layered a panel from the same paper pack with some brown cardstock and some foam tape to pop it up. I heat embossed the sentiment in white and added a layer of foam tape.

Happy Birthday

Happy Friday all - I have a gatefold card to share today. I created this as part of a class that Crystal put on, I did now quite measure correctly and ended up with some overlap with the folds but I like how it turned out.

I added layers of cardstock then designer paper to each of the panels. I heat embossed the sentiment and die cut some fish from kraft cardstock and added some ink blending to the edges.

I added some twine to look like a fishing line and popped the fish up with foam tape.

I decorated the inside panels as well and added a small fly with Versamark for a light watermark image.

Supplies: Kraft and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Carta Bella, Woodware - happy Birthday, Joy crafts - die cut fish, twine.

Be calm and bundle up

Good afternoon; I have a Merry Monday card to share today. 

It is hard to think snowy thoughts when the sun is shining so bright out my window, but I know this past Saturday we were hit with a hail storm that lasted a good length of time, and some of my family reported snow up island and in the interior of BC.

This card was pretty simple to put together; I used multiple papers from a Simple Stories paper pack, and the igloo, snowflakes, and sentiment are stickers from the kit. I added some foam tape to the center top panel and all the sticker elements to add some depth to the card. I finished with a small heart sticker.

Happy Mother's Day

Good Afternoon - I have a quick and easy Mother's Day card to show today.

 
I used some of the Washi tape from Pink Fresh, and die cut the sections using the matching die cut.

I stamped a script background on some gray-blue cardstock then added some foam tape to the wreath and sentiments. I finished using some half pearls. The sentiment is courtesy of MS word.

Supplies: White and blue cardstock, Pink Fresh - Indigo Vines - Washi and coordinating cuts, Penny Black - Script, pearls.
