Proud of you

I have a cool masculine style card for this evening's post. I started by die cutting random squares and rectangles from some cool design paper. I could not make them come together in a pattern that made me happy so I die cut some more squares and just used those.

I popped them up on some kraft cardstock then added a layer of dark brown cardstock before mounting the panel on a kraft base.

I heat embossed the sentiment using dark brown ink and clear embossing powder then layer the panel. I added some foam tape in behind.

I finished by using some Nuvo Drops.

Supplies: Kraft and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Ella & Viv, Simon Says Stamp - Amazing, Nuvo Drops.

I like how this card turned out, I think this Ella & Viv Oxidation Kit looks like interesting nature patterns. I created this card for my son who just graduated from college with an associate degree in science and a diploma in environmental technology, he now will transition over to University for another couple of years where he will finish his degree in geography and computer science. Definitely, something to be proud of.

Joy

Another favourite sketch for my Merry Monday card this evening. I love the pattern on the base panel of this card, it reminds me of a holiday sweater.  I added a layer of smoky blue cardstock in behind. I cut a strip of complementary cardstock and added a layer of cardstock in behind that as well.

The sentiment is stamped, layers and popped up with foam tape.

Sunshine

A quick ink blended card for this post. I heat embossed a background image on watercolour paper in clear heat embossing.

I added some distress inks then tried spritzing with perfect pearls and water. I added a little extra colour after. I popped the panel up with foam tape then added the sentiment. I finished with a few gems.

Love & Laughter

A Stampin' Up! order put a dent in my bank account last week. I was not happy about the rather robust shipping fee but I was impressed that I had the order by early this week.  My week has been more than busy so I did not get a chance to really look in the box of treasure but today I did.

Of course, that kicked off as swirl of inspiration so I am posting a second time today.

I used a simple layout and why not, look at this paper and I love the sentiment and the gold elements.. swooning.

I cut the bottom panel of patterned paper then added a layer of black cardstock. I did the same with the second panel, this one rectangular, I added a layer of foam tape to pop it up. I stamped the sentiment and layered that as well, I added foam to one side so that it was even with the second panel.

I glued the fold leaves and used the sentiment panel to hide the ends. I could not resist dropping a few gold half pearls into the mix.

Supplies: Stampin' Up! - Forever Greenery designer Paper and stamp set, Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper, gold pearls.

Keeping Christmas June 2020 - Winter

Good Morning all, welcome to the June Keeping Christmas Blog Hop.

Clean and simple cards are a quick way to build of your stash of cards for the holiday season.

I used some stitched rectangles to die cut some panels. I added a sentiment from the back of the paper pad, the sentiment has some foam tap in behind it for added dimension.

I love how easy this card was to put together, and the scene is perfect for a fun holiday card.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper - Moda Scrap, Simon Says Stamp - Stitched Rectangles.

Take a look at all the inspiration with the other designers in the Blog Hop.

Happy Christmas

Good afternoon and Merry Monday - I have a simple square card for today's post.

My card base measures 4 inches by 4 inches. I cut a panel of patterned paper then added a layer of black cardstock.

I cut a strip of black cardstock then layered it with slate and silver glitter paper, I die-cut a snowflake from a slate glitter paper and added it to the strip. I added a silvery gem to the popped up snowflake center.

I stamped the sentiment, layered it with black cardstock and popped it up with foam tape.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, glitter paper - Memory Box - Lindeman Snowflake, Simon Says Stamp - Circle Sayings Holiday, gems.

Wonderful

I pulled out my Minc today to play with my limited supplies of foils. I have only tried foiling a few times and I definitely need to practice.

I prepped the panel then added the blue foil, the first error is that I ran it though the machine a few times and this resulted in some black smudging, I still like how it turned out though. I added a layer of black cardstock in behind the panel.

I cut a thin strip of black cardstock then added some navy ribbon. I stamped the sentiment and layered that as well, I added some foam tape to pop it up.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Minc - Foil Sheets, foil, Simon Says Stamp - Greeting Mix 1.

Live, Laugh, Love

I had some wonderful craft time with my sister Barb over Facetime this evening. She provided a sketch and I went digging through some of my older 6x6 paper pads looking for inspiration.

I found it in a Simple Stories pad that I have had for years. My inspiration overshadowed the sketch but I am happy with the end result. The sketch is similar to the base layer of my card.

I used a kraft base then used brown cardstock as the accent colour. I tried to do a verticle cut with the patterned paper but the scraps were just a little too small so one is larger than the other. The panel with the flowers on it was next, I added some foam tape in behind to pop it up.

The Live Laugh Love panel was hiding in the back of the paper pack but was one of the final touches for the card. The last being some brown Nuvo drops.

Smile to my face

A super quick and easy card for tonight's post, I used my rectangle Infinity Dies to cut two panels of this pretty watercolour style paper. I added some foam tape to the top panel. My sentiment which was originally on the top panel but it smudged so I stamped it on a scrap then popped it up with foam tape.

I finished my card by adding some blue gems.

Happy Birthday

I attended another fabulous craft tutorial last night, I can definitely see myself using this fold for additional cards in the future.

I did struggle with how thick my frame was but I will know to create that differently the next time. It did not help that I had an idea in my head for the card and has prepped for that idea but when it came to putting it all together I switched my mind all together so I play catch up through the whole tutorial.

I do like how it turned out so let get to the details. My apologies for the photos, that was not working in my favour this evening.

The first steps were to create the frame, my first error was that my cardstock was not heavyweight, it did not matter that it was four layers thick it still was a little flimsy. That was also due to how thin I created the frame.

The front panels were next and those were easy, I added some black cardstock to the designer paper. The focal panel was also quick to put together, white cardstock and  I stamped the sentiment and image with my Misti, I added a layer of black cardstock in behind.

The inside is a simple panel, also with a layer of black cardstock. There was just a little too much white space for my liking so I added some grunge ink spots in light gray ink.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Brutus Monroe, Gina K Designs - My Anchor, Stampin'! Up Gorgeous Grunge, Simon says Stamp - Stitched Rectangles, Hero Arts - Infinity Dies.

The Magic of Christmas

A quick post for this Merry Monday. I am using a simple layout and no stamping. I have so many paper pads but this one from Kaisecraft is just so easy to create with and I made use of the sentiment panel from the back of the pad.

I cut the panel from designer paper then added layers of brown cardstock in behind. I added foam tape to the top two layers then added strips of brown cardstock for interest and some gems to finish.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Kaisercraft, gems.

Sending Hugs

A quick card for today, I spent a couple of days up-island on a mini-vacation and I did not get the chance to craft.

I did find some pretty papers at a local craft store and I love the soft colours of the ones I used today.

I used simple layers to create the main card panel then popped the whole thing up with foam tape. I did the same with the sentiment.

Supplies: White and gray cardstock, Designer Paper - Piatek, Simon says Stamp - Sketched Flowers.

Hope

This is a third-panel card I created, I promise to do something a little more artsy for tomorrow post. I love the different inspiring words on this panel.

I cut and trimmed the panel then added a thin layer of brown cardstock. I added some Glossy Accents to the little heart and left it as is.

Gratitude

I have another quick panel card, this one using a patterned paper with soft pastels. I die-cut the main panel using my stitched rectangles, I used a smaller rectangle to add a stitched edge to the smaller panel.

I tried to keep a little of the rose gold edge to the smaller panel then popped it up with foam tape. I finished with some gems that pulled colour from the flowers.

Better in FlipFlops

As I was looking through my bins of patterned papers I found quite a few sheets where there were premade panels. I know I have mentioned before when I have put together holiday cards how easy it is to put them together,  so I pulled a few pages out to put together some CAS cards and it helped that I was listening to a good audiobook that I wanted to finish.

This first card is all about summer.

I love the fun bright colours and the theme is pretty cute too. I cut a panel of flip flops and added a layer of smoky blue cardstock. The flip side of the paper is the bright yellow with polka dots. Next was the sentiment panel with the flipflops in the sand. I fussy cut a second pair of flipflops and added a layer of foam tape, I cover them in Zig shimmer pen in clear then covered them over with Glossy Accents.

Tuesday Morning Sketches - Stronger Together

I am playing along with the current Tuesday Morning Sketches for today's card.

I started with a turquoise piece of cardstock and heat embossed in silver some leaves and flowers twice. I then added splatter in silver, black and white watercolour. I fussy cut the other set of flowers and leave minus the stems and added them to the panel using foam tape to pop them up.

I stamped the sentiment and layered it with turquoise, black cardstock and foam tape. I layered the main panel with black cardstock and added it to the card base. I added some silver gems then finished with a little distress ink colour at the base of the flowers and leaves.

Happy Holidays

I am trying to use up a couple of 6x6 paper pads I have had around for a while.  This one had a lot of scraps so it was perfect for this multi-panelled layout.

I added a green/brown cardstock to each panel then added some foam tape to the tiny music sheet. I finished with some gems.

Happy Birthday

I used one of the new stamps I brought yesterday for this card. I started by using light gray cardstock and a brick embossing folder. I then added some distress ink for some added colour. There is also a layer of black cardstock behind it.

I stamped the image in black on a separate panel then added some colours also with distress inks. I popped up the panel with some foam tape. I stamped the sentiment, added a layer of black cardstock and popped it up with foam tape.

Hello - You make me smile

Using the second set of washi tape from Michaels, I made another card.

I cut a panel of cardstock then started to layer the different sizes of washi tape. I added a layer of brown cardstock, then I heat embossed the flowers then used matching die cuts to cut them out. Some flowers have foam tape to pop them up

I used some Nuvo drops to finish.

Smile - Just Because

I had a little retail therapy today, first to the local stamp store Stampers - I spent way too much money. Then on to Michaels.

I have a jar full of washi tape but when I saw this set I immediately was able to put together a card in my head.

I cut a panel of cardstock then started to layer the different sizes of washi tape.I added a layer of black cardstock then I heat embossed some flowers them cut them out by little fussy cutting. I added some twine and half pearls to finish.

Happiest Birthday

As I was digging through one of my cabinets looks for my Versamark re-inker I found a small stash of Alcohol Inks. I keep moving my Yupo paper around thinking I will use that one day. One day was the other day and I am quite happy with what I made with my limited supplies.

I started by just dropping some different colours, then adding drops within drops and more drops. When those were all dry I added some silver spritz and a layer of black cardstock. I stamped the sentiment and added a layer of black cardstock and popped it up with foam tape.

I liked the artsy simplicity of the it so I left it just like this.

Happy Father's Day

Good Morning - I have another fun fold style card. A group of us joined Crystal Johnson for another fabulous tutorial last evening for this swing fold card.

Only 2 false starts as I cut and scored at the start of the project but once that was done it was almost smooth sailing.

I created panels of black cardstock and added designer paper, lots of large medium and small-sized panels. I die cut the motorbike from black cardstock, then some gears from silver metallic cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment then layered it with black cardstock and some foam tape.

I used a mix of rectangle die cuts and Tim Holtz Thinlets to create the front swing panel and the blank panel for writing on the back panel of the card. Once the card was mostly put together I added extra gears to the card for embellishment to finish.

Overall I think I did pretty good as I made my way through this one.

Thank you Crystal.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #557 - Thanks

I am playing along with the current Tuesday Morning Sketches for today's card.

What a fabulous sketch, I had a card in mind as soon as I saw this. I die-cut a stitched rectangle then cut a panel of woodgrain designer paper to fit inside of the stitched edges. I used stitched squares to create the frames from brown cardstock then glued them in the interlocking pattern.

I had a few of these flowers on my desk leftover from another project so I put together a few more. I added some script then used distress to add colour. I alternated the flower sizes in a pattern and added some foam tape to the small flowers. I added a few leaves as well.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white on brown cardstock then added a layer of white cardstock and popping it up with foam tape. I finished by adding glitter gems to the flowers.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Craft Consortium, My Favorite Things - Stitched Flowers, Simon Says Stamp - Sketched Flowers, Stitched Rectangles, Stitched Squares, Penny Black - Script, gems.

Merry Christmas

I have a clean and simple card for my Merry Monday Post this morning. I am using a paper pack from Moda Scrap called Unconventional Xmas.

I used my stitched rectangles to cut two panels from the pack, I love the two polar bears so I made sure that they would be visible.

The sentiment panel was already cut and waiting and the little panel with lights was a leftover piece from a previous project, I glued then together then added a layer of foam tape.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper - Moda Scrap, Simon Says Stamp - Stitched Rectangles.

Happy Monday,
Nina
