So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
- Make a project that "Sparkles".
- Or Make a project "Celebrating the New Year".
- Or "Mash it Up" and create a project "Celebrating the New Year that Sparkles" .
New Year's celebrations are not big in our house, the new day and year will be there when we wake up :) needless to say it is rare for me to make Happy New Years cards so I did not manage to mash it up this time around.
My son's 18th birthday is only a few days away so this is the card I created. I love these sheets of glitter paper, the grain of the glitter is fine so it is easy to work with and does not grind when you cut it. I could not seem to get a great picture of the card though to show all the sparkles. I used rich cocoa brown and black glitter paper, as well as black and brown glimmer fancy floss. The bow adds flare but with the dark colours it keeps it's masculine appeal.
Supplies: Natural Ivory and brown cardstock, Designer Paper-Best Creation Inc, Denami Design-Happy Birthday, Fancy Floss-Glimmer, Recollections pearls.
Happy New Year and All the best in 2012 everyone.
Cheers,
Nina
Hi Nina,
ReplyDeleteCelebrating a birthday is a great way to use this challenge, and really it is the birth of a new year so you have sort of mashed it up. LOL
Love all that sparkle you've managed to include in such a masculine card. Lovely to see you playing along with us.
Hope 2012 brings you joy.
Cheers,

Hi Sis,
ReplyDeleteI guess by your post its safe to assume your son does not "subscribe" to your blog, heh?
You have to be lying about his age though for this would make me... egad I'm ancient!
Smashing card - course this coming from a glitter girl. You always do good guy cards.
