Sunny Smile

Welcome to Washi Tape Wednesday and the last day of May - I love the blend of gold and mint of this washi tape set. I started my card with a panel of white cardstock slightly smaller than my A2 card base.

I added strips of washi tape to create a patterned, I love that I can cut washi tape with my trimmer to create the perfect width. I then created a panel of washi to die cut some flowers. I added the sentiment, adhered the flowers with foam tape and  then finished my card with some gems.

Fresh Snow

Merry Monday crafty peeps - I pulled out a scrap of double sided designer paper for my card today, I love it when there is just enough for a card.

I started with a panel of gray cardstock, I cut two pieces of the plaid side of the patterned paper and adhered it to the top and bottom of the gray panel.

I cut a small panel of the deer print side of the patterned paper and added strips of gray cardstock to the top and bottom then popped the panel up with form tape.

I stamped the sentiment, layered it with gray cardstock and finished the card with some black half pearls.

Supplies: White and gray cardstock, Designer Paper-Photoplay, Penny Black- Fresh Snow, embellishments.

I love you more!

I am playing along with Tuesday Morning Sketches this morning. I started this card over 3 or 4 times before I got the colour combination I wanted right. I started with the patterned paper, then worked through different card bases and die-cut pieces until I was happy.

I used the kraft card base and added a layer of black cardstock and then the patterned paper. I die-cut the XOXO from black cardstock, brushed it with gold ink, and popped them up with foam tape. I tried to match the tone of gold on the large letter to the gold on the Designer Paper.

I stamped the sentiment, layered it with some black cardstock, brushed it with gold ink, and finished the card with gems.

There is a whole lot of gold going on here, the camera was not keen with all that reflection.

Supplies: Kraft and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Memory Box, Simon Says Stamp - Big XOXO & Messages for Everyday, gems.

Merry Christmas

I have a quick and easy card for Washi tape Wednesday, I was going to post this on for Merry Monday but I figured I would switch it up a bit.

I started with a panel and layered washi tape along the central section, I then ran the panel through my big shot with a 3D embossing folder. I must not have burnished the tape enough and it shifted slightly. I still like how it turned out but lesson learned.

I added a layer of black cardstock and adhered it to the card base.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Washi tape, Simon Says Stamp - embossing folder.

Merry Monday crafty friends - the little snowman with the blissful smile with its face turned up to the snow makes me smile.

I started this card with a navy cardstock panel and added two coordinating pieces of patterned paper leaving a small border around both panels.

I added another piece of pattered paper with snowmen on it for the top panel, this one also layered with a navy cardstock. I stamped and layered the sentiment to finish the card.

Supplies: White and navy cardstock, Designer Paper - Photoplay, Penny Black - Fresh Snow.

The Best Day

Today's card for Washi tape Wednesday came together pretty quickly, I may or may not have received some new Washi tape in my mail box :) it is one thing to see it on a roll, and another to put it together on a card.

I started with small washi tape stickers and created the bottom panel, I used a larger section of washi for the top panel which I popped up with foam tape. I stamped and cut the sentiment and used foam tape to adhere it. I finished the card with gems.

Supplies: White card stock, Washi Tape - The Washi tape store, Lisa Horton Crafts - Its the little Things, gems

Snuggle Weather

Merry Monday crafty peeps, I pulled out my pearlescent watercolours for my card today. I started with a piece of black cardstock, I ran it though my Big Shot with a 3D embossing folder.

I taped the panel down and added streaks of blue, silver and a mix of other colours. I let that dry and added a second layer of cardstock to prevent warming when I adhered the panel with some foam tape.

I added a sentiment strip and the card was done. The photo does not capture the shimmer of the pearlescent or the colour variances very well.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Simon Says Stamp - embossing folder and sentiment strip.

Happy Birthday

I have a very quick and very simple washi tape card for Washi Tape Wednesday. I don't take credit for the design, Pinterest has been my creative buddy the past couple of months. I had forgotten what a great resource it is.

I have a pretty organized craft room and I keep a good stash of card bases prepped and ready. I have found that I have been reaching for a new piece of cardstock when I have been creating so that I can have the same shade of card base to what ever I am creating. I must have 6 different card base in white, some smooth some textured.

I cut a panel that that was smaller than my cardbase, I used a pencil to add some guidelines then lined up some washi tape to make a simple pattern, I left a gap for a sentiment then added more washi to line up along the bottom of the panel.

I added some foam tape to the panel to add dimension. I added foam tape to a sentiment strip and adhered it. I finished the card with some gems.

Supplies: White cardstock, Altenew washi,  Simon Says Stamp - Sentiment Strips, gems.

Peace, Hope, Joy & Merry Christmas

I have a couple of quick cards for Merry Monday. I started with two panels of coloured cardstock, I ran them through my Big Shot with a 3D embossing folder.

I cut each panel in half then aligned a cut side from each panel together. I layered them with foam tape and adhered them to black cardstock. I added a thin strip of silver cardstock and added sentiment strip sentiments.

I finished by adding gems to the centers of some of the larger snowflakes of the embossed texture.

I created a second card with opposite sides of the coloured cardstock.

Supplies: White, navy and eggshell blue cardstock, Designer Paper - Silver, Simon Says Stamp - Embossing folder, gems.

Adventure

Washi Tape Wednesday - I started with a panel created with washi tape, then I used a square die cut to cut a panel from the center of the panel. I used a smaller square cut to make the die-cut square slightly smaller.

I layered the larger panel with black cardstock and used some thin strips of paper to make a windmill pattern. I added the small square back into the die-cut space with foam tape.

The sentiment is stamped with gray and black ink to create an ombre effect. I finished by adding a few leaves.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, washi tape, Stampers Anonymous Noteworthy, Simon Says Stamp - Privet Branch.

Season's Greetings

Good Morning and Merry Monday - I don't recall what this technique is called but I think it turned out lovely.

I started by cutting a panel of blue cardstock, then using a rectangle diecut created a rectangle cut out in both the card base and the panel to create a frame.

I added a piece of acetate between the card base and the blue frame, and I added the image panel. The sentiment is popped up with foam tape and I finished the card with some gems.

Thank you
Crystal for the tutorial.

Supplies: White and blue cardstock, Penny Black - Masterpieces made simple, Simon Says Stamp - sentiment strip, gems.
