Happy Birthday

Happy Saturday - I used one of my go to simple layouts for this card. I cut two panels and a small strip of coordinating patterned paper then glued them as I wanted.

I overlapped the center strip with ribbon and created small tie to one side. I tucked some branches under the tie popping up the top most leaves with some foam tape.

I added some foam tape to the back of the sentiment then finished with some gems.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper - Carta Bella, Echo Park - Falling Branches, Simon Says - Sentiment Strip, gems, ribbon.

Happy Birthday

Good Morning and Happy Friday - my card for today is a card I created for my father-in-law.

I started with a panel with a wood grain pattern, and added a layer of light kraft cardstock to create a frame. I used my much loved stitched triangles to create four patterned elements.

I stamped and cut the sentiment and popped it up with foam tape. I die cut some fish, added some twine and popped the up as well. I finished the card with some gems.

Supplies: White and kraft cardstock, Designer Paper - Echo Park, Stampin' Up! - Stitched Triangles, Pink Fresh - Happy Birthday Sentiments, Joy Crafts - Fishing fun, twine, gems.

Hello Winter

Good Morning and Merry Monday - My card today is one of those that was quick and simple to make.

I started with a panel from a 12x12 sheet and cut it down to fit on a A2 sized card. I added a layer of white and black cardstock to give it depth, then popped the panel up with foam tape.

I finished the card with some gems. I think the panel is so pretty on its own with the delicate pattern.

The light when I took the picture did not want to cooperate, the panel is actually a rich navy, with the almost filigree pattern being a blend of light blue and tan.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Photo play, gems.

I am playing along with the current Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge. I started with some patterned paper and created a couple of half panels. I added a strip of another coordinating pattern.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Memory Box, Sizzix - Papercut Cafe, Honey bee - Latte & gems.

Sorry for your loss

I created the base panel for this card using Washi tape then it sat on the corner of my desk for weeks. Along came the need for a sympathy card, and I felt that a simple card would work best.

I added a layer of black cardstock, then added the leaves I die cut, the sentiment strip is popped up with foam tape and I finished with some gems.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Washi Tape, Simon Says Stamp - Whirl Leaves and sentiment strip, gems.

Hello Winter

Good Morning and Merry Monday - I created this card with the intention to joining last week's Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge but I forgot to post.

I followed along with the sketch provided. I started with the background, then added a vellum oval with some paste and splatter on it. I layered some coordinating strips of paper and small strips of glitter paper along the bottom.

I added a snowflake die cut and a sentiment strip that is popped up with foam tape. I finished by adding some sequins.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper - Carta Bella, Simon Says Stamp - Snowflake, Creative Expressions - Sentiment Strip, sequins.

Graduation

Sometimes the sentiments that come as part of a paper pad just fit. In the case of this card, the sentiment could not have said it better.

This is a card I made for my son for his University graduation, the card is simple but turned out perfectly.

I will admit, I love the colours of this card as well. I started with the plaid patterned panel, I layered that with black cardstock and a solid paper from the Echo Park themed set. I added the sentiment panel with a layer of foam tape.

I die cut three little graduation caps then finished the card with some Nuvo drops and a kraft card base.

Supplies: White, kraft and black cardstock, Echo Park - Graduation paper pad, solids pack and graduation cap, Nuvo drops.

Belated Birthday

I have a printed calendar of all the celebrations throughout the year that require a handmade card, the list get a little longer every year and the printout may be a little old school but it usually keeps me on track for when I need a planned card.

Even with my list I still miss something now and again, earlier this week I had a popup for a calendar item for a birthday I was not expecting which put me into a quick make a card panic.

I had pulled out some supplies to start a card, but they were just sitting on my craft table unused so they were my starting point.

I started with a panel of white cardstock and added some washi tape. I have a small stash of branches and leaves that I am favouring right now so I used one of those.

I added a layer of black cardstock and a quick sentiment strip that is popped up with foam tape, finished the card with some gems and small dots of Nuvo drops.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Simon Says Stamp - Winsome Branch, Washi tape, gems, Nuvo drops.

Happy Birthday

Happy February 1, January seemed to drift right on by me.

I am sharing a card created by using the block stamping technique. This technique has been around for a while and I am pleased I was reminded how quick and easy these cards can be to make.

Thank you Crystal for the tutorial.

I used two different distress colours on my block then added a misting of water.

Once dry, I stamped the silhouette image of the grass. The sentiment strip is popped up with foam tape and I added some black Nuvo drops.

I finished the card by adding a layer of dark green cardstock and popping the panel up with foam tape on the card base.

Supplies: White and green cardstock, Penny Black - delicate silhouettes, Simon Says Stamp - sentiment strip, Distress Inks,  Nuvo drops.
