Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #288

We have a new Merry Monday Christmas card challenge, Deanne is our hostess and her challenge is No stamps allowed! Create a Christmas card without stamping.

I had this designer paper on the side of my desk still from the Keeping Christmas blog hop and it was perfect for this challenge. Both panels have a layer of black cardstock added to them. I popped up the top panel with foam tape and I finished with gems.

I don't think it gets much easier than the pre-decorated panels with sentiments on them.

Supplies: Kraft and black cardstock, Designer Paper-Bo Bunny, gems.

Sunshine and Rainbows

As I started to type something the song Wake me up by Wham popped into my head,  I think the bright fun colours prompted some dance music to flash through my mind. Yup.. just a little bit of crazy;).

I am digging right into these fun bright papers from Echo Park. I added a layer of Navy cardstock, then lined up the rainbow stip along the edge and overplayed the flourish pattern with a layer of foam. I heat embossed the sentiment and popped it up with foam tape. I finished with some black gems.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Echo Park, Penny Black - Happy Thoughts, gems.

Have a great day,

Keep Smiling

There seems to be a theme this week :) all about the smile. Turn that from upside down people, you ever have one of those days when you want to be a little grumpy but then along comes someone with a over abundance of happy and you can't remember what put you in your funk in the first place. We all need one of those people.

I use to have a hard time working with bright colours, now they just seem cheery to me. Maybe it is that spring is trying to fight its way in and I am looking forward to warmer temps but they just looks fun and with positive sentiment to pair them with... well you get the idea.

I used both sides of a 12 x 2 page, I offset the top panel and added a layer of foam. I die cut some thin circles and popped the heat embossed sentiment up why foam tape.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper-Echo Park, Simon Says Stamp - Hand Lettered Encouragement, SSS-Die cut.

Have a warm and friendly day,
Nina

Beeutiful

My sister Barb found a stamp set with some beautiful sentiment on her last trip across the border and she was so sweet and picked one up for me. Yesterday she challenged us to use it.

I have had these Bumblebee themed papers for a long time and truth be told I was not sure how I would be used but this stamp set was perfect.

Simple layers, a couple of die cut flower under the sentiment panel which is popped up with foam tape.

Supplies: White and sage cardstock, Designer Paper - Unknown,  Dare 2B Artzy - Beeutiful.

Smile

I have a a large amount of designer paper... I doubt there is anyone out there with that same issue ;). I see a paper and love it and can picture a project in my head at that very moment only for it to be lost in the craft void as a new idea comes along.

That is what I had happen with this pretty paper, I have it in multiple colours too. This weekend as I was creating this CAS card I briefly wondered why it took me so long to cut into it.

Anyway, the paper is doublesided and worked wonderfully for this easy layout. I heat embossed the sentiment then popped I up with foam tape.

Supplies: White and blue cardstock, Designer Paper - Scenic Route, Penny Black - Happy Thoughts.

Have a wonderful day.

Avocado smootches

I found this super cute stamp set at Michaels one day on sale and could not resist. It has been sitting in my stash for a couple of months and my sister Barb who purchased the same set challenged me to use it at the same time as her.

I had a vision, it did not quite work out as expected but I think it is sweet.

I die cut and masked the avocado pair then added some ink blending, stacking them twice. I added some bright ink blending as the base and added some flicks of water for interest. I added some Wink of Stella to the hearts then covered one with Glossy Accents.

I finished with the sentiment and some Nuvo drops.

Supplies: White cardstock, Recollections - Valentine's Day, Paper Smooches - Chit Chat, Nuvo drops.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #285

Good Morning - we have a new Merry Monday Christmas card challenge, I am the hostess this week and my challenge is to Add ribbon to your Christmas card.

I don't know about you but as the 'in' thing of cardmaking comes and goes I usually end of with an excess of supplies, ribbon is one of those. I use to incorporate ribbon into my design on so many cards, I tend to neglect my supply now.

I do love my rustic style Christmas cards and this one is no different. I created a die cut button then glossed it over by melting multiple layers of clear embossing powder. I pulled out some raffia ribbon to sting through the button.

I used simple layers for the rest of the card, the sentiment is heat embossed in black and popped up with foam tape.

Supplies: White Cardstock, Designer Paper - Photo Play - Gina K Designs - Compliments of the Season, SSS - Stitched Square, ribbon.

Infusions and Cosmic Shimmer

I recently saw a series of cards where Infusions were used, I was intrigued so I thought I would give it a try. The golden shimmer left behind does not show up in the photo as much as I wanted but you can see a hint of it.

I used watercolour paper then sprinkled Infusions on dry, I think used some Cosmic Shimmer paste to add moisture to engage the inks.

I added a layer of black cardstock the then stamped the sentiment which is also layered and popped up with foam tape.

I added a layer of foam to the main panel then finished with some black half pearls.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Technique Tuesday-Find Beauty, Infusions, Cosmic Shimmer paste, half pearls.

I used a couple of pages from the Bliss 6x6 paper pad for my card. I stamped the sentiment then rounded a couple of the corners and popped it up with foam tape.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper - My Mind's Eye, Penny Plack - Heartfelt.

I finished with some Nuvo drops.

Teeny tiny.. little bitty.

I should have had these posted this weekend but I will admit to being distracted by the fact I was lucky enough to have a 4 day weekend.

I created these little cards, all about 2.5 by 3.5 inches for some ladies at work, they were accompanied by a small Lindt bunny.

I used Simon Says Stamps sets Some Bunny and Easter Greetings.

As well as the most adorable paper from Echo Park, Hello Easter.

There are of course, gems, sequins, twine and foam tape in the mix too. I love how they all turned out.

Here are a few photos from a hike I went on this weekend. A day hike with some elevation, I think round trip it was about 5 hrs. I love the beautiful scenery and views.
