Nature Listens

Good Morning, Happy Halloween, and Merry Monday, I am in love with the Penny Black - Masterpieces made simple - they make for such a fabulous start for a card. In truth they could make the card all on their own.

I started with a layer of patterned paper - I love the plaid design with the gold running through it. I added a layer of black cardstock to to the panel.

I added a layer of black cardstock to the masterpiece panel then popped it up with foam tape.

Adding to the simple design of this card I cut a sentiment strip and added a black cardstock layer, and adhered it with foam tape. I finished with some clear gems.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer paper - Memory Box, Penny Black - Masterpieces, Simon Says Stamp - Sentiment Strips, gems.

Did you know: The first product to have a barcode was Wrigley's gum.

Boo

I have a little Halloween spirit to share today. This should have been a quick and easy card but I added a few elements, so while the card was easy to put together it was not really quick. I like how it turned out, and it was well received.

I started with two panels of patterned paper and added layers of black cardstock for small frames. I diecut the photo frame from black then ran it through the Big Shot with a web embossing folder, I adhered it with thin foam tape.

I did cut the letter to form Boo from the same patterned paper as the top panel, then finished the card with a little ghost and some sequins.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper - Recollections, Simon Says Stamp - Alphabet die, Memory Box - Ghost, sequins, misc. embossing folder and phot frame.

CAS Challenge #493 - Sketch - Coffee Break

Happy Friday - I am playing along with the current CAS Colour & Sketches challenge.  I love this sketch, my first though was to use something from my Washi Tape stash but instead I pulled out a Honey Bee paper pad.

I alternated between designer paper and a fine glitter paper, I also added two score lines. I stamped the sentiment, then added the stamped coffee cup which was fussy cut it before popping it up with thin foam tape.

I added a simple brown cardstock border and popped the panel up with a thin foam tape.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Honey Bee, Verve - Coffee, Honeybee - Coffee.

Did you know: It takes 12 bees their entire lifetime to collectively produce just one tablespoon of honey.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #681 - Restful Recovery

I have not played along with a card challenge for quite sometime, so I decided to take a look at some of my favorites to see what inspiration they will generate.

I am playing along with the current Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge. I did not manage a bird but I love the sketch.

I have these stickers that I picked up with a washi tape order from the Washi Tape store, they are so pretty but I was not really sure how to use them.

I decided to pick one and use that as my colour template. I feel that this is a nice autumn pallet. Next I found some patterned paper that would pull it all together.

I used a piece of copy paper and tore a rough circle in the middle for a mask and stamped a section of script.

I layered the strips of patterned paper and some gold tone washi tape then secured the flower in place. I popped up the sticker with its backing on foam tape. I chose not to remove the backing as I like the clear edge.

I finished the card with a sentiment strip and some gems, I added a layer of brown cardstock in behind top panel,  I added a layer of foam tape before adhering it to my card base.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Echo Park, Venus' Garden Sticker Set, Simon Says Stamp - Sentiment Strip, gems.

Did you know: Sixty-five percent of test subjects had the urge to yawn after merely reading about yawning.

A wonderful Chrismastime

Time for a Merry Monday card - with a simple layout of course.

I started with a dark green cardstock for the bottom layer that I added some texture to with a snowflake embossing folder. I popped the layer up with some foam tape.

I added the top square panel then two smaller squares near the bottom. The stamped sentiment is popped up with foam tape and the card is finished with some gems.

Supplies: White and green cardstock, Designer Paper - Stampin' Up!,
Stampers Anonymous - Tiny Text, gems.
