Tuesday Morning Sketches #276

We have a new Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge for you today, Jessi has created this fantastic sketch for you and our sponsor this week is Diane’s Daydream Designs.

I turned the sketch so that I could use the Live Laugh Love album tutorial from Diane’s Daydream Designs as the guide for my card. The notepad page is provided as part of the tutorial so I printed it off and used it as part of my focal point. I stamped the sentiments and layered them, and added in some gems for the paper holes. I used simple layers for the background segments and the flag. I used a die cut button that also embosses and added in some hemp twine.

Supplies: Kraft and black card stock, Designer Paper – Simple Stories, Technique Tuesday – Live Laugh Love, Diane’s Daydream Designs -Live, Laugh, Love album Tutoral, gems, misc die cut, twine.

Hello Kitty

I have to admit this is a cute critter, I am hoping the young lady it was made for likes it. I used my Silhouette to cut out Hello Kitty, I don’t use my Sil much so it took me  a few tries for the different colours. My desk looked like it could put together a little pride of little zombie Hello Kitty’s.

I did pull it all together though, and I the only one who really know which parts are not really fitting J. I used a red glitter embossing powder for the bow and I popped up eyes and nose with foam tape and added glossy accents. The sentiment and Hello Kitty are popped up with foam tape as well and I added a little twine to finish.

The Silhouette cut files was provided my sister Barb.

Supplies : White and gray card stock, Designer Paper – Fancy Pants, Paper Smooches – Birthday Sampler, twine, gems.

Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge #134

Good Morning , we have a new challenge for you today over at Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge. Wendy is our hostess this week and she challenges us to Create a card with ornaments in Silver/gray and blue.

Can you say clean and simple... you would thing right.. not in Nina's world. Picture this, a cloud of glimmering blue, gray and silver glitter hovering in a small room. It coats EVERYTHING. Ok, it is not that bad, well except even my husband seems to walk around with random bits of glitter stuck to him now and again.

I used my Memory box die cut ornaments and covered them in a the glittery blend then sealed them with Krylon. I heat embossed the sentiment and put it all together. I used a sliver pen to cover the ornament caps.

Supplies: White and navy card stock, Kaisercraft, Memory Box die cuts, glitter.

Congratulations - New Home

Boy did I struggle with this card, I had it on my desk for 4 days and picked at it here and there. I am still not quite happy with it and I even added some sequins after I took the picture.

The balloon and house die cuts are popped up with some foam tape. I also popped up one of the hills. I added in some twine for along the bottom and for the balloons. I finished with the sentiment.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #274

Good Morning, we have a new Tuesday Morning  Sketches Challenge for you, the sponsor this week Stitchy Bear and the sketch is created by Jessi.

Ok, so I may be a little late with theme of this card but one of the perks of being a Design Team is being able to work ahead on challenges, one of the downfalls is to loose track of days on the calendar :).

I wanted to try the cracked glass technique for my card to make the image look like old faded mirror. I printed off the image and then heat embossed three layers of clear powder on to it. I popped it in the freezer and cracked it when it was cold enough. I then used a dauber to add some gray ink into the cracks. I layered the image to give it a slight framed look, and added some Halloween papers for the back drop. I finished with some twine, the sentiment and sequins.

The image is not that dark in real life but the gloss confused the camera a little.
Supplies: White and black card stock, Designer Paper – Jillibean Soup, Stitchy Bear-Silhouette Halloween Broom, twine, sequins.

The Challenge #18

The colours for the current The Challenge just scream Christmas to me but I am just not ready for that run towards the holidays just yet. I am guess that is because I already have a nice stash of Christmas cards from Merry Monday.

I went cute for my card.  I love these adorable little hedgehogs, I heat embossed them and popped them up with foam tape. I added in some little hearts and used Glossy Accents on them, well and everywhere else for that matter.

Supplies: White, kraft and brown cardstock, Designer Paper-Basic Grey, Lawn Fawn stamps and die cuts, Spellbinders die cut.
