Tuesday Morning Sketches #682 - Wonderful Birthday

Another fabulous sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I alternated strips of patterned paper and a woodgrain silver embossed paper, I love this effect. I stamped the sentiment then wanted to add a little something.

I die-cut a daisy then popped it up with some foam tape. I added some gems then finished the card by adding some foam tape to the panel.

Supplies: White cardstock, Designer Paper - Craft Consortium, Silver embossed paper - Recollections, Poppy Stamps - Ragged Daisy, Penny Black - Carefree Wishes.

Did you know: Queue is the only word in the English language that is still pronounced the same when when the last four letters are removed.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #681 - Restful Recovery

I have not played along with a card challenge for quite sometime, so I decided to take a look at some of my favorites to see what inspiration they will generate.

I am playing along with the current Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge. I did not manage a bird but I love the sketch.

I have these stickers that I picked up with a washi tape order from the Washi Tape store, they are so pretty but I was not really sure how to use them.

I decided to pick one and use that as my colour template. I feel that this is a nice autumn pallet. Next I found some patterned paper that would pull it all together.

I used a piece of copy paper and tore a rough circle in the middle for a mask and stamped a section of script.

I layered the strips of patterned paper and some gold tone washi tape then secured the flower in place. I popped up the sticker with its backing on foam tape. I chose not to remove the backing as I like the clear edge.

I finished the card with a sentiment strip and some gems, I added a layer of brown cardstock in behind top panel,  I added a layer of foam tape before adhering it to my card base.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, Designer Paper - Echo Park, Venus' Garden Sticker Set, Simon Says Stamp - Sentiment Strip, gems.

Did you know: Sixty-five percent of test subjects had the urge to yawn after merely reading about yawning.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #556 - Kindness

I am playing along with this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.

I die-cut a layer of patterned paper using my stitched rectangles then added a layer of black cardstock. I stamped the image and fussy cut it then added a smidge of colour with some watercolour pencils.

I added some crochet thread then added a stitched ring of black cardstock, I added some foam tape in behind the flowers. I stamped the sentiment then cut it with a slightly uneven edge then added a layer of black cardstock.

I finished the card with some dark blue gems.

Supplies: White and black cardstock, Designer Paper-Craft Consortium, Simon Says Stamp - Uplifting Thoughts, Stitched Rectangles and circles, gems.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #554 - Thinking of you

I may have gone a little overboard with this card I just kept layering elements, but I do like the end result. I am playing along with Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I started by using a background stamp and creating two panels with a script on them. I used one to die cut the butterfly and the other for the main panel. I added a round mask then I used distress inks to add colour.

I used a stencil after that was mostly dry to add some Nuvo Mousse in Tuscan Gold and Mustard Seed (bronze).

I die cut the butterfly on the second panel of cardstock with script print on it and added some distress ink and then die cut a second one out of vellum. I added a layer of foam tape between the layers of the butterfly body to give it a little lift. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on brown cardstock and finished with a gem on the butterfly body.

You can see the masked circle behind the butterfly and if you look closely you can see the script on the butterfly wings.

Supplies: White and brown cardstock, vellum, Penny Black - Script, Kaisercraft - Birch, Butterfly - KFF0010, Hero Arts - CL342, gem, Nuvo Expanding Mousse.

I turned the sketch and switched up the elements a bit, I will admit to not being in love with my results. However, I was too tired to start over... do over another time ;).
